MedaPhor ScanNav Database Hits 1 Million Obstetric Ultrasound Images

Tue, 27th Nov 2018 18:11

LONDON (Alliance News) - MedaPhor Group PLC said Tuesday its database used for training its artificial intelligence products now has over 1 million obstetric ultrasound images.

The ultrasound software and simulation company said "large image libraries are a prerequisite to creating AI solutions" and these images have helped develop its ScanNav software.

MedaPhor believes the 1 million mark is a "significant milestone", as it will enable it to build its ScanNav software "for the global obstetric ultrasound market".

ScanNav uses AI algorithms and deep learning techniques to automatically assess ultrasound images. It is currently being piloted in UK hospitals to support sonographers carrying out the 20 week anatomy scan.

Shares in MedaPhor closed down 5.7% Tuesday at 8.25 pence each.
