Cable & Wireless Communications is selling its Bermuda business for $70m and using the cash to help fund a share buy back of up to $100m. This helped the CWC share price to perk up. Bragg of Canada is buying Cable & Wireless Bermuda which is an international gateway business providing data capacity, carrier, internet and International Direct Dialling (IDD) calling services. Bragg, which operates under the Eastlink brand, is paying 6.5 times 2009-10 EBITDA. IT services provider Logica's 2010 figures were in line with expectations but the share price has fallen back. A strong end to the year meant that pro forma revenue rose 1% to £3.7bn, with fourth quarter sales up 4%. Profits were unchanged over the previous year at £272m, though the total dividend is being increased by 27% to 4.2p a share.Logica expects to grow faster than the market in 2011.
