The FTSE small cap index and junior-listed AIM shares arebroadly flat into mid-session, outperforming falls of around 0.6 percent on boththe mid-caps and the blue chips.
Hydrodec drops 18.8 percent after the cleantech industrial oilre-refining group says that an incident at its re-refining facility in Ohio,United States, on Sunday has led to significant damage to the plant. The companyadds that the cause of the incident is not yet known, there is no reliableassessment of damage and the plant is currently shut down while the incident isinvestigated.
"We are suspending our forecasts and recommendation until the cause anddamage has been assessed," analysts at Peel Hunt say in a note.
"If the main items of equipment are intact, as is possible, then theeconomic impact could be limited ... We are confident that management will workquickly to limit the impact on the business, which is in any case well coveredby insurance."
Strategic Natural Resources drops 39.3 percent after saying that its 74 percent subsidiary, Elitheni Coal has received a liquidation notice inSouth Africa from a group of creditors.
