IN BRIEF: Hawkwing intends to delist from London in February

Hawkwing PLC - cash shell - Says it will shortly apply to the UK Financial Conduct Authority and London Stock Exchange to cancel its listing and trading on the Main Market in London. This is further to its announcement in July when it appointed Benjamin Thom Cairns and Mark Granville Firmin of Alvarez & Marsal Europe LLP as joint liquidators, who have now decided this course of action. As required under the listing rules, it is anticipated the delisting will be effective from the opening bell on February 9.

Hawkwing PLC - cash shell - Says the appointment of its joint liquidators took effect from June 28. Benjamin Thom Cairns and Mark Granville Firmin, each of Alvarez & Marsal Europe LLP, are the joint liquidators of the company. This follows the company's joint administrators applying to the Insolvency & Companies Court of the Chancery Division of the High Court of Justice back in May. Notes that its joint liquidators will make a further update "in due course".

Hawkwing PLC - London-based cash shell - In 2021 pretax loss narrows to GBP90,000 from GBP340,000 in 2020. Records no revenue for 2021 and 2020. Cash balance doubles to GBP2.3 million at the end of 2021 from GBP1.1 million a year prior. Firm does not propose a dividend, unchanged from a year ago. "Our strategy is to identify opportunities for acquisition, targeting sectors such as digital marketing, medical applications, business and financial services and the sports sector," says Keith Sadler, senior independent non-executive director. "We are committed to maintaining careful cost controls to preserve cash as we continue to search for and review various prospects," he adds.
