Highland Gold Mining's production rose eight per cent to a record 233,696 ounces of gold in 2013 following a strong second half. In a trading update for the six months ended December 31st 2013, the company reported an increase in gold production at Russian mines including Mnogovershinnoye and Novoshirokinskoye.During the second half the company achieved first gold poured from the Belaya Gora mine after completing plant construction, ramp-up and tests.As a result, total production for the year through December 2014 is expected to increase to between 300,000 to 320,000 ounces of gold and gold equivalents.Shares fell 0.81% to 61p at 11:17 on Wednesday.RD
