Security and surveillance system group Petards has won a deal worth more than 1.75m pounds to supply Canadian train-builder Bombardier Transportation with on-board digital CCTV systems.Bombardier has chosen Petards' eyeTrain saloon and driver-only operation CCTV systems for 116 new Electrostar electric carriages that it is building for Go-Ahead Group's Southern Railway at its plant in Derby in the English Midlands.The coaches will run on the Thameslink route through London before being moved to newly electrified routes. Deliveries are expected during 2014.Petards Chairman Raschid Abdullah said the contract should make a significant contribution to group revenues in 2014. "While we work closely with Bombardier on many projects, it is pleasing that we are again supplying equipment for one of their prestigious new build train programmes," he said.PW
