Georgia Healthcare Suspends Dividend, Curtails Non-Essential Expense

Wed, 18th Mar 2020 18:26

(Alliance News) - Georgia Healthcare Group PLC on Wednesday said it has put in contingency plans in place for all divisions and prepared a action plan to address outside demand to combat coronavirus.

"To prevent the virus spread, employees of our hospitals and clinics have been given comprehensive training, including how to manage patient flow, based on Georgian National Center for Disease Control and Public Health recommendations," the hospital operator said.

The company is also currently working with vendors on a daily basis to ensure uninterrupted supply of materials, taking account of the current limited supplies of certain goods.

Georgia Healthcare is reconsidering its capital expenditure projects and has suspended dividend payments due to the uncertainty surrounding Covid-19.

"So far, the Georgia is successfully tackling the global Coronavirus crisis. GHG's performance also remains strong in 2020 and all of its units are continuing operations without any interruption. The group is well-positioned with strong capital resources for the current challenge, and we aim to ensure that this remains the case. We will monitor the impact of Covid-19 on an ongoing basis to manage our resources according to evolving circumstances and will take further steps to keep our communities safe," said Chief Executive Nikoloz Gamkrelidze.

Shares in the company closed at 67.00 pence each in London on Wednesday, down 8.8%.
