Filta To Provide North Tees & Hartlepool NHS Trust With Sanitiser

Fri, 04th Sep 2020 10:12

(Alliance News) - Filta Group Holdings PLC said Friday it has signed an exclusive licensing agreement with North Tees & Hartlepool NHS Trust to supply its hypochlorous acid based broad-spectrum disinfectant.

Shares in the fryer management and other services provider to the catering and hospitality sector were up 21% in London on Friday morning at 109.25 pence each.

The deal with NTH Solutions - a support services group wholly owned by North Tees & Hartlepool NHS Trust - will see Filta's Sanitation Service sell the products and provide training for customers in NHS best practices for proper use of the disinfectants.

"The HOCI-based product, produced on site by NTH, is able to quickly disinfect surfaces, including killing the Covid-19 virus, without the need to evacuate a room or the need for extensive use of PPE, as it is non-corrosive and is non-harmful to humans. This makes it an ideal option for customers in a wide range of sectors from office blocks and schools through to commercial kitchens and restaurants," Filta added.

Filta staff will conduct initial cleans at sites and will then ensure that these sites are sufficiently trained/certified and prepared to continue the cleaning regime.

Chief Executive Jason Sayers said: "Since launching our sanitation service FiltaShield in early May, we have experienced an encouraging level of enquiries and initial orders.

"This partnership with NTH Solutions will further enhance our capabilities and sits with our overall group strategy to expand our core service offering and increase the opportunity to cross-sell our portfolio of solutions to current and future customers. We are looking forward to working with our new partners and updating on our progress in due course."

Filta will be considered an authorised, exclusive partner to the NHS's wholly owned subsidiary, NTH, and will be able to display the NHS logo where appropriate, the company said.

The exclusivity rights under the agreement will run for an initial six months, with an option to extend for a further six months depending on performance, Filta said.

The company added: "Given that this relationship is at an early stage, no conclusions have been drawn as to its financial impact on the company and, at this time, there is no material change to the company's financial condition or performance as a result of this agreement."
