AIM WINNERS & LOSERS: Sareum in patent boost; Airea flags uncertainty

(Alliance News) - The following stocks are the leading risers and fallers on AIM in London on Friday.

AIM - WINNERS

MC Mining Ltd, up 15% at 6.35 pence, 12-month range 4.50p-9.00p. The South African-based coal miner posts solid third-quarter production and sales. In the quarter to June, Uitkomst run-of-mine production soars to 127,927 tonnes from 41,536 tonnes a year ago, while metallurgical & thermal coal sales are up sharply to 84,834 tonnes from 16,707 tonnes. Uitkomst is located in KwaZulu-Natal.

Sareum Holdings PLC, up 7.8% at 9.22 pence, 12-month range 0.70p-9.58p. The Cambridge, England-based molecule drug discovery firm notes the US Patent & Trademark Office backs a patent associated with Sareum's SDC-1802 TYK2/JAK1 kinase inhibitor programme. SDC-1802 is a cancer treatment.

AIM - LOSERS

Fulcrum Utility Services Ltd, down 11% at 27.00p, 12-month range 25.60p-43.60p. The energy and multi-utility services provider swings to a pretax loss of GBP11.5 million in the year ended March 31, from a GBP1.3 million profit. Revenue rose 2.2% to GBP47.1 million from GBP46.1 million, however. Like financial 2020, it decides against a payout.

Airea PLC, down 6.9% at 32.12p, 12-month range 25.00p-37.00p. Floor coverings manufacturer notes an uncertain outlook and says "forecasting sales performance in the second half is particularly difficult". The West Yorkshire-based firm posts a revenue hike of 4.7% to GBP7.4 million in the six months to June 30. It swings to a pretax profit of GBP464,000 from a GBP54,000 loss.
