(Alliance News) - DX Group PLC on Monday said it opened a new depot in Glasgow to expand its delivery network.
The 20,000 square-foot depot will serve the company's Express next-day delivery unit, allowing it to increase capacity and service levels in Scotland's central belt.
The move is part of the company's GBP10 million capital expenditure programme. It opened another Express depot in Rotherham earlier this month, and "a number of further depot openings are planned this year", DX said.
"We are pleased to be opening this new depot in Glasgow, which marks another sign of our ambitions for the business. This new site allows us to increase capacity and enhance service levels, and shows our confidence in the growth potential of the business across the important central belt of Scotland," DX Chief Executive Lloyd Dunn said.
Shares were up 0.8% to 30.25 pence in London.
