UK EXECUTIVE CHANGE SUMMARY: Portmeirion Refreshes Leadership

(Alliance News) - The following is a round-up of London-listed company director and manager changes announced on Tuesday and not separately reported by Alliance News:

Portmeirion Group PLC - Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire-based maker of Portmeirion, Spode, Royal Worcester porcelain and Wax Lyrical candles - Former chief executive officer Lawrence Bryan retires as non-executive director immediately. Bryan was CEO until September last year and was with Portmeirion for over 20 years. Sales & Marketing Director Phil Atherton also to leave the company and steps down from the board immediately. Jacqui Gale, managing director of Wax Lyrical, joins the board as chief commercial officer, and Bill Robedee joins as president of North America, both immediately. Also hires Clare Askem as non-executive director, joining immediately. Askem was managing director of Habitat at J Sainsbury PLC and also was an executive at Home Retail Group and Dixons PLC. "These changes are part of our refocus and support our ongoing growth strategy," Chair Dick Steele said.

Europa Oil & Gas Holdings PLC - UK, Ireland and Morocco focused exploration, development and production - Simon Oddie shifts permanently from non-executive chair to CEO. Non-Executive Director Brian O'Cathain steps up to chair. Oddie joined board as non-executive chair in January 2018 and became interim CEO in November of last year.

Velocity Composites PLC - Burnley, Lancashire-based composite materials for aerospace - Chris Williams hired as finance director from Tuesday. Andrew Hebb, who has been interim finance director since the start of 2019, will depart after handover. Williams was finance & commercial director at Bettys Cafe Tea Rooms, part of the Bettys & Taylors Group Ltd, which also runs Yorkshire Tea and Taylors of Harrogate coffee.

Kropz PLC - phosphate explorer with projects in South Africa and Republic of Congo - Makes Interim CEO Mark Summers its permanent CEO. Summers has been acting CEO since late February as well as chief financial officer. He will continue to be CFO until a replacement is named.

IQGeo Group PLC - Cambridge-based geospatial collaboration software for telecoms and utility network operators - Hires Haywood Chapman to board position of CFO from Castleton Technology PLC, where Chapman was CFO since 2014. Back in May, Castleton shareholders approved the software and managed services company's GBP82.8 million acquisition by MRI Software LLC.

Thor Mining PLC - tungsten projects Molyhil in Northern Territory of Australia and Pilot Mountain in US state of Nevada - Appoints Mark McGeough as non-executive director, with immediate effect. McGeough is a geologist who has worked at a number of Australian miners, including Chinova Resources Pty Ltd and Toro Energy Ltd.
