IN BRIEF: Byotrol Gets GBP350,000 Grant For Anti-Viral Uses Of Seaweed

Byotrol PLC - developer of consumer and professional antimicrobial technologies and products - Secures grant from Innovate UK to further investigate the anti-viral properties of certain common forms of seaweed. The grant is for research into the use of seaweed for sanitising products. The total award is GBP350,000 over 16 months, of which GBP108,000 will be paid to Byotrol's academic partner, the Molecular Virology Research Group at the University of Liverpool. This grant award will help Byotrol build further on its research and development programme into developing biocides from sustainable sources. Byotrol expects to file further patents as the programme develops.
