HOUSTON, Sept 16 (Reuters) - A gasoline-producing fluidiccatalytic cracking unit was back in normal production on Mondayat BP Plc's 400,000 barrel per day (bpd) Whiting,Indiana, refinery, according to sources familiar with operationsat the refinery.
The FCCU, an alkylation unit and a reformer were shut onSept. 10 due to a malfunction. The alky unit returned onWednesday and the FCC restarted late on Thursday, the sourcessaid.
Energy industry intelligence service Genscape said the84,500 bpd FCCU restarted on Friday. There are two FCCUs at therefinery. The other FCC remained in operation while the firstFCC was shut. (Reporting by Erwin Seba; Editing by Carol Bishopric)
