Arian Silver Says San Jose Diamond Drilling Begins

Mon, 02nd Feb 2015 13:19

LONDON (Alliance News) - Arian Silver Corp Monday said that it has begun a 5,000 metre diamond drilling programme at its San Jose project in Mexico.

In a statement, the silver exploration, development and production company said its drilling program is targeted within the township of Guanajuatillo which is located on the San Jose Vein. It is to the west of the eastern identified resource boundary at Soledad and east of the western identified resource boundary at 'West End' and Guanajuatillo, some 5 kilometres west of the main San Jose haulage ramp.

Drilling has commenced with two drill rigs and is expected to be completed during this quarter.

In addition to commencing a drilling program at Guanajuatillo, Arian said it will also start a drilling programme to test the down dip extension of the epithermal vein system below the current resource blocks.

The company recently acquired its own "termite" rig. This is a smaller drilling rig that according to the company can can be mobilised from underground sites, thereby reducing exploration cost.

Arian Silver also said that preparation has started for the construction of a third haulage ramp in the Guanajuatillo area to develop the western boundary of the Soledad resource block and to open up the West Soledad and Guanajuatillo areas for future planned exploitation.

It said the ramp is part of the mine development program to ensure a sustainable operation for life of mine at the full capacity of 1,500 tonnes per day.

Arian shares were up 0.5% at 31.65 pence on Monday.
