Utilico (UEM) Senior Analyst, Mark Lebbell, provides and update for the Utilico Emerging Markets shareholders. The year to date UEM net asset value total return continues to be positive, rising 8.7%. This is a significant outperformance compared to the MSCI Emerging Markets total return index which in sterling terms has fallen by 0.1% for the year to date.
After strong performance in June and July, globally equity markets were mostly weaker in August, reacting to mixed economic statistics that add uncertainty to the market outlook.
