“The Stena Carron will next move to the Kaieteur block in which Hess holds a 15% working interest to spud the Tanager-1 well, which is located 46 miles northwest of Liza,” Greg Hill, President and Chief Operating Officer of Hess Corporation told investors on Wednesday.
A block-wide application for environmental authorization to conduct oil and natural gas activities on the deepwater Kaieteur block was submitted to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) by ExxonMobil. This has since been approved, according to EPA head, Dr. Vincent Adams.

You forgot to state that all wte investments are all in exxon operated blocks so the new government is going to shoot the golden goose?

They do, but nothing's started yet...The Stena Carron hasn't moved yet has it? Maybe they are waiting for confirmed election result and commitment from the new (whichever!) government that they to fully commit to the licenses also.
In the Hess transcript they rather obviously state that the both government parties have committed to the Staebrok license, but no mention of the other blocks.
Anyway, not meaning to put a damper on things - if/when these go as a result of a strike on either block they should go very, very nicely indeed. But should point out the risks to anyone new and unfamiliar with WTE/Guyana.
Yes Rob. That's been on my mind too, but the companies seem to be telling us that drilling is about to go ahead. Bit late to stop now.

Just be aware that the election results have still not been decided/concluded, and there is still a (perhaps significant) risk that the opposition (who seem likely to win) will revisit the licence terms for WTE's blocks (they have stated they will previously).
I have a fairly chunky stake, but accept that there is a potential fly in teh ointment (not withstanding ECO's heavy oil..).
Great thinking there Donny.
Guys most of you are missing the point.
The canadians wte are invested in are private they will want a listing so high prob we will be an rto target to boot
Didn't realise just how many ex-Cove founders are involved here... Amazing how under the radar this is really, but hopefully it continues while I build my stake... GLA.
Hopefully HESS will farm in to TLW's share of Orinduik.
That lack of liquidity combined with drilling could really cause a monster squeeze here.
I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm so convinced this exploration well will be successful that I'm staying fully invested right through results.
Make the most of it... it literally ticks up on every trade so once the herd gets a whiff this thing'll be off

Given that this oil tiddler is about to take part in Exxon drilling the motherload I can't belive the total lack of interest here. It's astonishing.
