Carrington. Well explained. After the good run lately, the vod sp was always likely to fall back. Obviously there is a lot of money in America,so that can easily move the sp sharply. As for the F.T.S.E. & U.S. markets being up, vod often goes in the opposite direction driven by other factors (merger rumours for example) of which may come & go. The only certainty I would say, is that if sp does fall back, no doubt the doom & gloom merchants will be back on this forum, with there usual sack the b.o.d. nonsense!
Well Mikey, I don't want to take the **** so I will leave it to somebody to explain that one to you? But I will give you a clue, It's called the stock market, which is driven by lots of sometimes complex factors?
VOD up around 10pct in the last month Mikey, bound to be some profit taking, - rotation going on atm from tech stocks that forecast a profit in 20 years time to value dividend stocks that pay a dividend and actually MAKE money - VOD is one of them - a pause here then it resumes the upward trend imo
dyor etc
What's there for the Americans to forgive? I think Verizon did well, when vod sold it's stake back to them? Just the usual anti American stuff eh? Forget America, It is the rest of the world that matters most to vodafone.
If somebody could just explain - without taking the **** Daniel - how we can be nicely above £1.27 then half hour before America opens we drop , then America opens we drop into the red despite Ftse and america up nicely .
Could very well just be a read through from AT&T as they reported results pre market that were just above expectations. They were up 2% pre market, but tanked on market open and are currently down 0.34%.
It seems the yanks are looking for anything remotely negatively in results and hitting the sell button. Saw it yesterday with Microsoft - beat all estimates, good forward guidance and was down 7% after hours at one point last night, although it's recovered well since.
Let's hope this bounces just as quickly too, although god knows which way the markets are going to go after the Fed meeting later today.
Mikey, those pesky Americans have never forgiven VOD for the Verizon issue a few years back, I expect that they have it in for us because of this. Don't let it get you down though mate, there's a lot going on in the world, just ask Boris.
Not saying a word - apart from America !!!!!!!
Hi gary, just look the other way for a bit, the funds will come back, i have green/amber and red shares, the green pay me a good dividend and also some growth, the amber are nearly there, and you guessed it vod is in the red zone with one other, but before anyone shouts at me, it's getting a lot better let's hope it can continue, can't complain about its progress in the last few weeks
Good luck
Robleo - Yes a bad few days for our funds mate but they are recovering & just take a few days to catch up so no worries, that is unless they are ETF's.
Good job the shares have progressed nicely. Here, RDSB, HSBA & BP for me.
Good luck all & lets hope we keep going up here.
i may have jumped a little to early LOL but hey ho good luck folks
Hi Dan, good day for vod again, and recovered some losses today as well, we seem to be going through a market correction at the moment, strangely some of my shares have been doing ok, but all of my funds have been dropping every day for the last week, think everyone's waiting quietly in the background here hoping we can actually finish on a high Friday
fingers crossed
Dow recovered over 300 points again and VOD +1.4%
So everybody is happy? Can't complain about that?!
Hey Dan - I am happy !!!!
As is explained in the results and on the Vod Investors website the
The foreign exchange rate at which future dividends declared in euros will be converted into pounds sterling and US dollars will be calculated based on the average exchange rate over the five business days during the week prior to the payment of the dividend. This will be determined on 28th January
3.783 is from dividend max, so it could be wrong? If you want exact, then wait for the FX rate, not sure when that is announced though?
FX rate has not yet been determined so where you get 3 decimal places from I have no idea
Hi robleo. Another great day so far, I hope your other shares are doing ok as well. I still haven't got 2 negative covid tests, so still can't go out, which is a bit annoying, so I shall have a little moan about that?, but definitely not about the vod sp. Looks like we will both be way out with our Friday close predictions, at least I hope so. Let's have a thumbs up for Nick Read for a change? Good luck all.
4th Feb I believe. 3.783p.
Is there a divi payment in Feb pls? Cheers Welsh.
Danielh spoilt child hahahaha !!!!!!
Says he who calls everybody who he disagrees with a “pathetic idiot “
Moan moan moan
Much better today, recovered a lot of the losses from yesterday and vodafone still going in the right direction, so happy tuesday so far
Ackers. You only have to read his last post to realise he has the mind of a spoilt child. He works for vod, & obviously has a grudge. Never mind, I am very happy at the moment with vods share price. As for skiing, well, I've cancelled 2 ski hols so far this year due to covid restrictions, but still have one planned in March, so I hope that one goes ahead. Good luck all vod investors.
I only do it to annoy danielh ????
