I'm pretty sure the constant de-ramping of the company has put doubts in many an investor, so once the RNS hit the street and people started to drop the price it caused some to panic. The volume though was small and because of the market we trade on it gave a false picture.
Hope you all have a good day, I'm out and about today so catch up with you all later on. ATB ;))
Yep, I'm sure they did...but for me that just heaps the 'blame', if that's the right word to use, back onto the RNS. I've probably laboured the point too much already but PR is hugely significant...get it right and a company's reputation and value is protected and even enhanced. Get it wrong and you are open to attack and stakeholder value gets slammed, possibly to a point where investments are difficult to recoup. I'm still angry about it if I'm honest...for me, it was a hugely detrimental move by whoever allowed it to go out and one that doesn't inspire confidence regardless of what we may have in the ground.
wee order in at 135 so fingers crossed!
thank you soooooo much for sharing your vast knowledge on all things regarding law and investing.i doooo feel blessed that you got up out of your bed earley to advise and help us.go and have a good long look at yourself!!!!!
of course, you are right the rns was poor and it would have affected the sp down as you say, however.... Within seconds of it coming out ducky and the crew were shouting out duster when clearly its far from it at this moment. But they sure took advantage to scare pi's and exaserbate the drop.
This business of Brian saying that comments made on here and other BBs have adversely effected the share price...that may be the case to some degree but did these or the RNS of 2 weeks ago and the way it was constructed have the bigger detrimental effect? For me, it was the latter. In terms of 'cause and effect', that piece of communication remains a complete PR disaster IMO and I still, for the life of me, can't understand why or how it was allowed to go out like that when the share price was always going to be decimated as a result. Why not lead with the 150 ft off net pay rather than the apparent failure of the other zones tested? Shareholders' confidence would have been much stronger as a result.
Come on Bryaaaaaaaaaan!
That is a strange question. The bid/ ask is 132p/165.5p before trading starts for today. All trades are matched so in reality the sells have been going at full ask, but you as a buyer, or you as a seller set the price. If I was looking to buy in today I could either stick an order in at full ask, or watch how the day starts to pan out to see where the price is likely to go and put an order in 10p below the current bid. Each day you could say the SP starts at zero, it is set only on the first trade. If I were to put an order in to sell at 1p, it will be taken out and the price for USOP shares will be seen as 1p.
Should be interesting today all we need now is an opps update!
onwards and upwards!
Lets put the past behind us now and look forward to the future ... Have a good day .....
Don't know why you you don't know "what to make of it". Critiquing a companies performance is not unlawful but saying a company is being deceitful on purpose is a different ball game, that's when in becomes litigious. Any investment is risky with trying to find commercial oil reserves in Nevada. USOP seems to have possibly achieved that on its first drill. It's risk assessment and in your mind your parameters for assessing risk is different to others. You say you wouldn't touch it with a bargepole, others might say , well I will invest $1000 dollars as that's all I am prepared to gamble on risk/reward ration Someone's else risk/reward ration might be higher. That's investing. You cannot say I am not investing as its a **** illegal activity, which is what some people have been saying.
Just read the RNS from USOP - interesting to say the least. Not sure what to make of it really, it's not an investment I would touch with a bargepole, but I don't think I have ever seen such strong opinions about a company - from both sides - on a BB. I'll be very interested to see what statement's USOP consider unlawful and whether they will try and take action against the highly critical articles that I think were initially published in magazines. As for the recent rise in the SP I'm truely please for holders, all I would say to the inexperienced investors is that nobody ever went skint taking a profit - this is and will remain a very risky investment unless they have a commercial find.
Here's hoping it becomes a little more relaxed in the day's to come mate. I mean Vegas will be a shareholder meet, might even be official.......must let LSE admin know of this as it deserves discussion here. It's been a nice day to be a holder and hopefully it's helped answer some of the questions those on the sidelines might have had. Night all, see you all tomorrow.

placing orders online is ok, but be warned there is no direct link to GXG, so the dealer may take your order and wait for your price and execute it, but in the mean time you want to change/ cancel your order the dealer may not see it. It is then best to phone to cancel said order. I have found this to my detriment as I cancelled orders online yet an hour later they were executed. If you phone and get Camilla, bless her, put the phone down and try again.
the code is B4Q65W6 - but it is best to ring up and place orders
these guys then? http://www.jarvisim.co.uk/mainpage.html
Zedd/JP :)
No problem pal. Luckily it's still there as most of my other posts have disappeared this evening. Even talking about Vegas is off limits :(
You're right and as I said only guesswork. Hopefully not long to wait for the news you've hilighted..........I'd hope we get it at some point within the next week or so.
Sorry mate, should have pointed to your previous.
