Just looking for any reasons that may account for the fall? Seems a large correction following a run of constant even finishes. Good buying opportunity I think will bounce back later on this week.
Liberum's latest notes are quite bullish:
"Despite the headwinds created by the liquidation of one of its largest clients, Speedy has delivered impressive revenue growth in 1H19. This has been helped by a particularly strong performance in its SME business. The successful execution of this part of the strategy, combined with continued focus on asset optimisation, leaves the company in a strong position to deliver continued improved return on capital employed and cash returns. With 18% total shareholder return potential to our unchanged target price of 74p we reiterate our buy rating."
Never had to hire gear in my life -- I am a Johnny Knowall !! Following the sad loss of Carillion and its contracts there, I feel we are slowly clawing back some of the customers who may also have lost heavily with Carril. Hire Rentals must obviously be priced to be reasonable to the customer and I think we did a very good move in guaranteeing delivery on the same day if ordered before 3.00 pm. Only time will tell if customers really appreciate this offer. Reports suggest that it is effective nationally. Yours, Max.
"Peel Hunt raises its target price from 65p to 70p"
Nice
Hoping to see something from Liberium (house broker) in the next few days.
Decent update - hopefully Speedy have broken their habit of 'surprises' every 2 years (or worse)
Need the core rental to grow more though
Peel Hunt raises its target price from 65p to 70p.
Should there be an interims report about November or December, and you forecast 0.7p per share following say, January next. Good and thank you. ---- Yours, Max.
Lets see how this prediction fares come full year results next May
Profit before tax £35m
EPS 5.27p
Dividend 2.0p (Interim 0.7 and full 1.3)
Hopefully no exceptional items this year.
I reckon we will be breaking out of the 50p - 63p range that we have been marooned for the last 20 months.
I think we will have a decent trading update next week followed by at least one broker upgrade.
Your comment on big buys. --- Looking at the Fundamentals Page we can see that:---
Shares Sold is about ...270,000 ------------------ Shares Bought is about ... 6,900,000
Bought outweighs sold by about 26 times !!! ..............................................Yours, Max.
Some big buys today :-))
Pleasing to see, Maccaroo, Blue Army et al, that a small but steady rise seems to be happening on here. My thoughts about this is that the state of SDY shares are an indication of the general health of indusry., and they may be getting better !! --- Yours, Max.
Good morning to you, sir. Your previous hibernation seems to have left you in good spirits. I was just surmising that all the troubles caused by a certain president in the way of tarriffs, etc, may have caused something of a slow down in the construction, engineering and like trades, in big and small firms. SDY have in the past reminded us that they are just as concerned about supplting small and local firms as large firms. It is pleasing that some of the overseas owned car firms are continuing to expand in this country. As you know, this could have a knock on effect on those companies that cater for these expansions, and I believe SDY are able to ensure that these companies are equipped with the best and latest tools, etc. They claim, and set out to prove, that they are the best and safest firm in the business of supply to such companies. That is why people like you and me support them. Yours, Max.
Good morning all i am back :-))
.... the 7mil am hour later was me :-)
Large buy at 9.49. (It wasn't me lol)
I have been Hibernating {:-))
A jump in share price and no Macaroo
This has been a snooze fest for the last 8 years
Significant investment by Vp, resulting in revenue and profit growth. Interesting to compare to Speedy... Great track record, giving confidence in future performance. Challenge integrating Brandon to impact over next year, but nothing suggests they will struggle with this. Would love to have same confidence in the Speedy growth story - where’s the strategy?
Found it. £5.9m of revenue from acquisitions. If you add this, and the full year impact from Lloyd’s acquired in the prior year (say £8m), then c. £14m of the uk revenue growth was from acquisition. After adjusting for kit disposal revenue, uk growth is c£20.4m, so underlying growth is around 2%...
£2.1m on Carillion, £1.3m on people restructure and a large slug (£4.7m) on closing out property leases? Offset by international over provision. I’d like better view on impact from acquisitions. Not got to notes yet, but nothing in FD review talking about impact on revenue and profit. Stuffed £0.6m integration costs into exceptional, but no word on contribution to overall profit. Lots of explanation around last years disposal adjustment to show growth in revenue, but no backing out the revenue they bought in the year. They refinanced to give room for acquisitions, did two in the year (admittedly not very big) and then say nothing. Only comment on uk like for like is that it was positive. Think it’s safe to say if it was higher than broadly 0-1%, they might actually say what the number is. Growth is anemic compared to better performing end of peer group. Chairman stepping down - perhaps he doesn’t feel there’s much left in the tank. Net debt is nice and low - less than 1x EBITDA. How about some accelerated returns to shareholders to get that cost of capital down!
Would like more detail on difference between adjusted profit and profit before tax. (8m !) But pretty decent. Would hope to see 62p today
Thinking about it £25m and 3.8 EPS Adjusted figures. The key will be recent trading
Adjusted profit before tax £24m Adjusted EPS 3.7p Final Dividend 0.90p That’s fairly optimistic. Get that or anything above and shares will close above 60p
Any thoughts / expectations / predictions ahead of tomorrow's year-end announcement?
