Really??? OK, so cash position is down slightly, but legals are now out of the way, restructuring is complete, and revenues ahead of latest projections. Broker ratings really are beyond the pale sometimes!
Big buy after hours, too...
1 share bought at 11.11am!!!
Big confidence from the director and his family, the price has already began its rise, unlucky to those who missed out, however still a very good deal at 330. Gold hold tight and see it booming very soon, should be nearing 400 sp very very soon.
I find big purchases like this very reassuring DYOR
LONDON (Alliance News) - SDL PLC Monday said Jackie Davies, partner to Chief Executive Officer Mark Lancaster purchased 500,000 ordinary shares at a price of 300 pence per share Friday. The company also said, Maria Lancaster, daughter of Mark Lancaster, purchased 15,350 shares at a price of 303.5 pence per share Friday. Following this transaction, the Lancaster's total holdings stands at 1.2 million shares, which represents 1.5% od the share capital. Shares in the software provider closed at 300.25p down 2.00p Monday.
Is definitely putting his money where his mouth is. I agree wholeheartedly with him - this is too cheap at the moment, massive over-reaction to reduced profits that were already being addressed by sensible R&D and marketing expenditure.
not really that bad - there are extraordinary costs tied up in here, as well as reduced operating costs for the next year, so trading on a lot less than 26 in reality.
I still believe that this company has legs. It's a poor update in many ways, but the market has developed a habit of over-reacting to profit warnings when the fundamentals are still sound, or at least there is a clear path through the downturn. The management have been very sensible here, invested heavily in the technology / sales infrastructure which will see improved results throughout 2014. They forecast this dip early in the year, but reading the releases from that time, there was hope rather than any real expectation that they would meet the targets for 2013, so this is really just confirming that. We're now sitting at less than half where we've been in the last twelve months, but we're still in profit which is a much better place to be than many companies at the moment. Good opportunity whilst those around you are losing their heads. GL Happy
Kicking myself because I had a bad feeling about this and vey nearly sold up a couple of onths ago when I would have broken even - now have to decide whether to stay in or cut losses At least today brought great results from TEF where i have a larger investment and issued a greattrading update today to balance news from SDL
Performance for the third quarter of 2013 is below management expectations, and as a result, the Board has lowered its outlook for the current financial year. Profit before Tax, Amortisation and before one-off costs* ("profit") is now expected to be in the order of £8 million in 2013 (2012: £35.5 million).
if not here lol
Let's hope so - got some more cash freeing up in the next day or so, and thinking that SDL shareholders are feeling a bit lonely and need my company :)
bounced at 3...lol...fingers crossed
SDL volumes dropping and now well below most MA indices, if it breaks 322 support.......Could drop all the way down to 284. Unfortunately, ( for me ), I bought in just before the drop from 380's, so I am well and truly stuck ! Oh well, cant win them all, just have to sit tight. Anyone got any rays of light ? Cheers...teejayeem
Anyone understand where they are 16 Automatic trades for 17 shares this morning?? seems a bit strange to me.
looks very weak, I can see fund managers & pension funds interested around this price. any lower surely a buy/strong buy. on a 2-3 year term expect sp to be a lot higher & paying bigger dividends.
good thinking, hope it goes well.
Im in and out on a few, but look at lots, bought this one on the down as I thought there may be some bounce back, put 4k in @£3 and sat and watched it drop down even further into the £2.6 range. but looking at a 4 year investment as it my daughter car fund so plenty of time to recover.
Hello. Crikee, your doing ok then. May I ask what other shares you hold?
All of my other shares are on the up, this one on the way back down.
...so cheap on EV/rev multiple; decent aligned management; growth market aaoo/dyor
there isn't really - couple hundred thousand shares out of 80M issued is really just noise - people want in / out all the time for a variety of reasons, and for PIs, their brokers all charge different spreads, so you see a range of prices.
I know I am new to this but I am a little confused, why is there so much transactional activity (both buys and sells) against this share even though there has been no news either way? Any direction to help my understanding will be much appreciated.
