I wasn't entirely being sarcastic 1cag ;-) My own holding is on Euronext and (along with some judicious averaging down) I'm down less than 50% on PVR for the first time in several years. I was just noting that it was because someone played silly beggars paying 25% over yesterday's asking price for a massive €69 worth of shares. But I'm more than happy to treat it as a sign of great things to come. I *am* cautiously optimistic that Linn is going to bring home the bacon and give us a ten-bagger from here in the next couple of years.
ps sarcasm is the lowest form of wit. :) let's hope that the repatriation of ownership wasn't the only thing signed by the minister and that permission for the site survey is imminent. Tomorrow would be nice for the FO announcement, otherwise flashbacks of the APEC debacle could set in next week.
JH77: "Pretty disappointing rise in the SP so far today....all things considered."
Oh I dunno, it's up 25% on Euronext. Only thing is, the number of shares traded is about the same as the number of cinema tickets sold during lockdown ;-)
I guess we're gonna need more substantive news than "we do actually own the acreage we're trying to farm out".
I agree it's important to have green credentials, but I don't believe CCS is likely to happen anytime soon in spite of the Greenie heading up DCCAE. The cost of electricity generation using current CCS techniques can go up by a factor of 3-5, rendering it economically unviable ... which is why you don't see anyone doing it. Even the Greens might have difficulty selling those sort of costs to the public. Read about it here: https://cleantechnica.com/2016/01/19/carbon-capture-expensive-physics/
It's possible there will be a technological breakthrough and there's an excellent candidate technology under test right now in La Porte, Texas. The Allam Cycle is a way of burning an oxyfuel (a mixture of natural gas and pure oxygen) in a dense CO2 stream which is used as the working fluid for power generation. The CO2 from fuel combustion mixes with the working fluid, with some of it recycled back into the combustion chamber and the rest siphoned off as a sequestration-ready pipeline stream. There are other major benefits like a much smaller generating plant and not needing cooling water. Without something like this I can't see CCS being feasible, and even *with* it we may not be talking about a commercialisation timeline of any use to Barryroe.
Complicated would probably be a better term to describe most Irish people I know. Even Freud was of that opinion:)!
Also I'm Irish but I definitely not sophisticated:)!
Swannie that 63000 listed sell was me buying, topping up after the RNS confirming holdings reinstated. Surprised the news hasn't been received better. Possibly just current market sentiment or with all these buys listed as sells after a positive RNS are the lads trying to walk the share down a touch to fill a big order. Time will tell. Just need our Spot on confirmation now. Otherwise I'm after throwing more good money after bad:)! Best of luck!
You are right Rocklawn. John O' Sullivan has set up his own company in this regard. You never know, we might see him again.

I feckin hope he doesn't get a look in...after shafting everybody and creaming off a huge amount of money for himself and cronies. If he gets involved again it's only going to lead to a lack of confidence.
Battle... thats an interesting article....is'nt O'Reilly and friends after setting up a new company to get invovled in this process... he may appear again in Barryroe ....
This thing is really gonna go when the Spoton funding component comes in. Buying up to now has all been sophisticated Irish investors, penny hasn't even dropped with UK market
Hopefully there will be carbon coming from Barryroe. As mentioned in the presentation, Providence are assessing the potential for developing Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) in the North Celtic Sea linked with the Barryroe field, to produce an intergratel sustainable, hydrocarbon development. John Sullivan the previous technical director at Providence, mentioned that the carbon footprint from LNG is up to seven times that from traditional gas fields. The importance of having green credentials is hugely important. Here is a article about carbon capture as relates to the natural gas.

Pretty disappointing rise in the SP so far today....all things considered.
Carbon coming from Barryroe. Hilarious !!!
If Eamon Ryan is to feel the heat from Predator Oil and Gas and their plans to build three floating liquefied gas terminals, Providence Resources must be a cool autumn breeze in comparison, when you take into account their plan to use the Kinsale gas field for carbon capture for any carbon coming from Barryroe
