look at the facts, pace has nowehere to go imo but DIVE DOWN from here. - Cable , set top boxes and all that lot are all being replaced by cheap on demand services such as netflix blinkbox at a fraction of the cost RIGHT NOW. There's no need for clunky set top boxes everywhere. That is why i have sold entire holding after holding pace for more than 10 years. - I can't see the future anymore in this co.
"Cable television’s heyday is over. Subscribers have been declining since 2004, and analysts say there’s no end in sight. Roughly 54.8 million households currently pay for cable TV, down 3.3% from 2012 and down 17.6% from a decade prior, according to research firm IHS. Cable companies are expected to shed roughly 1.3 million subscribers in 2014. The decline is due in part to so-called cord-cutters: consumers who are canceling cable and transitioning to lower-cost services, such as Hulu and Netflix NFLX+0.03% , which provide much of the same programming at a fraction of the price. Using an Internet connection, consumers can stream many cable shows, news programs and sports games, as well as movies, directly to their TVs. Some channels’ websites also provide viewers access to their shows"
Still a "VERY POOR DIVI Though" can't get way from that fact. $200 m to spare and nowt for the share holder..umhhh. Remember Pace can drop like a stone! (remember the bad hurricane/storms that wrecked the drives being shipped in Thailand, could not get the orders out)...................
good luck to those that have held, I sold out after last update last year with a healthy profit. Glad to see this moving up....
It's been a good year for Pace, a few dips then recovery each time and up to the current Share price. I like these four points mentioned____ · Leadership in PayTV hardware:Pace maintained market leadership positions in Set-top Boxes, Media Servers and Gateways whilst making further progress into previously under-penetrated markets such as cable in Europe and IPTV. · Widen out into software, services and integrated solutions: Pace built on the momentum of 2012 with a number of key wins and a strong focus on product and customer project delivery for major launches and deployments in 2014. · Transform core economics: Continued focus on efficiency has delivered further sustainable overhead savings and the transformation and rationalisation of our supply chain was completed, delivering significant benefits in 2013 and beyond. In addition, the acquisition of Aurora Networks, which closed on 6 January 2014, is an important step in the evolution of the Company and enhances Pace's strategy to widen out and build a broader platform from which to drive revenue.
Pace plc: 2013 Trading Update FY2013 expected to be ahead of guidance: operating margin not less than 7.7%, revenue growth of 2.4% to $2,460m, free cash flow in excess of $200m
Nov 14, 2013 Pace PLC Q3 Interim Management Statement -
SP gone through ceiling of downtrend channel. Momentum right behind this one now. http://uk.advfn.com/p.php?pid=legacydaily&epic=L^PIC&type=4&size=2&period=4&ind_type1=1&ind1_1=&ind2_1=&ind_type2=8&ind1_2=&ind2_2=&ind_type3=4&ind1_3=14&ind2_3=&olx_1=3&ma_type1=3&o_1maday1=25&o_2maday1=&o_colour1=1&olx_2=3&ma_type2=3&o_1maday2=50&o_2maday2=&o_colour2=2&olx_3=3&ma_type3=3&o_1maday3=200&o_2maday3=&o_colour3=3&scheme=&delay_indices=1
can anyone explain why the continual fall in SP considering the cracking results released on the 30th July????
There is similar company Perform. They all dooing good.Same thing happened with perform and risened 200p in just couple of days
Strong cash flow will continue, and Pace expects to be in a positive cash position at the end of 2013." The Group will be announcing its half year results for the period ending 30 June 2013 on 30 July 2013. that was the time to load up ,if everything fails people will watch TV.
What a company? I can see th e hefty profit, ROCE above 26%. It might hit 500p in next couple of weeks. Debt almost nominal.
and everyone chasing the oil companies
Looking at the Intel development of a new set top box integrating constant streaming direct etc which Intel have high hopes for it is my guess that AKO are taking their position based on the potential launch by Intel which would be huge i think........it appears that the Intel launch is suffering a set back after initially proposed for April 13 it will now be later this year. Are AKO banking on Intel launch knocking Pace market.??
They've increased their position from 4.12% to 4.2% today! http://www.fca.org.uk/static/documents/short-positions-daily-update.xls
Unmoved -suggest you research source of info, then check their previos comments relating to this stock, then check their record against sp rise and think about their possible connection to shorters (AKO) think about timeline between successful production, and relevant market price penitration
So, Amazon's going to be building their own set top box. ; being developed by Amazon’s Lab126 division in Cupertino, Calif., Amazon are a big threat IMO, are unlikely to mess about, and this is now a saturated market, so building cheap and selling volume will pull margins back for existing players. Question is, how hard will PACE get hit by the Amazon juggernaught. ?
Interims not intermission!
Another big drop today, surprise surprise a £360k buy after market close,,, mm's,,, I'm holding ready for intermission 24th
Any thoughts on the decline over past few days? Freeing up shares maybe, hopefully good news to come at the Agm on the 24th apr
within a week this is back at 240P. Love it when a plan comes togther.
Good results were expected, thus factored into the SP. Profit takers have long gone and then this will now head back towards 240P. GL.
Pretty underwhelming response to an excellent set of results. Revenue up 4%, profit after tax up 50%, dividend up 20% debt down 49% and expected to be debt free by the end of this year. Maybe the board should think about running up a catastrophic level of debt a la Thomas Cook to get the sp moving up again.
Run upto results and compared to peers cheap, hopefully the shorter has to pack his bags and hopefully pace up the divi to give him some encouragement,
