Haha bottom came to mind
The legend that was Rick mayall
You know, I'd forgotten sad lonely men sitting on their own in beer-stained pants typing abuse at random people on the internet was a thing. Depressing.
I don’t think they would have a 30min live gig for sale with Live Nation. It’s got to be as comparable to the real thing as possible. It would certainly be in their best interests to start exploring stuff like they have done in the football. Watching a game with the sounds played in and monitors mimicking people in the crowd is so much better than the empty stadium. I brings it to life. I think the 30 min slots for MelodyVR are fine for their library building but not for a paying gig. Supply and demand... if Live Nation make more from the first gig than they do the real gig then it’s a no brainier. Every single concert will be beamed through MelodyVR including all the HUGE acts with and without crowds... Seeing live sold out show is finally in the post. Who’s Kat Dahlia? Have I missed this one or is she a new ones that beaming live in LA?
Budweiser .
You aren’t a gig goer at the moment Cheapie and nor are your mates.
If you or they wouldn’t pay a tenner for a gig I’d suggest Cheapie is a reasonable monicker lol!
As for others calling £2, £10 subscription for all the big stuff and Lordfont’s 7Bn potential users, what are you guys on? Ludicrous.
10 billion mobile phones on the planet , 7 billion potential fans .Gore/Livenation will know this and will be rubbing the greedy mits .
personal view is length of performance key in determining charging structure.wth perhaps a few exceptions for some outstanding artists, i don't see people paying much for a 30 min performance. but an hour plus is more realistic. realise' im probably just stating the obvious. however, with potential numbers available and advertising etc I've little doubt that a charging structure attractive to all can be arrived at.
TM is getting very desperate.
Needing to compete with genuine live gigs is off the table for at least the rest of the year because of Covid.
What people will be asked to pay and what they will pay during/post Covid remains to be seen.
If you want to go to a gig but it's sold out then there's only one way you're getting in - digitally.
I can well imagine some people seeing many more live gigs than they've ever done before if they haven't got the hassle of travelling and their "ticket" cost them a tenner instead of £50.
Agree about the genuine live experience being the real deal but there's a lot of people out there with differing priorities, even if they do love live/music.
It's early days and this is a new revenue channel - nobody knows how big this could be in 6-12 months.
Raffle/ticket though IMO.
Don't forget the pound is pretty weak right now, so for many internationally ticket prices wont seem too expensive.
I'm a gig goer (and invested), and my friends don't want to pay £9 for gigs on the app.
It's *not* the same as the live experience. It's just not the same thing at all. People aren't going to pay anything like normal ticket prices. This worried me for a while!
What did occur to me, however, is it's on the internet worldwide, there's easily potential for selling 100k tickets even for not very big acts.
Tickets should be priced ten times LESS than normal concert tickets. Because you've got 10 times the audience!
Hopefully one or all major tabloids would want tobe in on it!
A hand out of FREE cardboard VR / mobile units.....
Then all the major advertising company would want tobe in on it!
Then All the major superstar & A lister’s would want tobe in on it!
Then All the BIG blue chip company would want to promote them selves in between the music & tobe in on it!]
An we would get to see it ALLL FREEE & BE IN ON IT!?
ATVB 2 LTH. *¿*
I'm expecting an absolutute minimum of £10 for a household name and more for the megastars
The earliest ones could be a little cheaper if they just want to generate awareness until we are a household name
and Live Nation have a list of 275 MILLION ticket buyers to sell to. The app will quickly be back in the top 5 downloaded apps when he first big name(s) are announced
TM getting desperate again LOL
Hobbit
Livenation sell the concert its sold out , fans across the world millions of them want to see the new show , they can only see this via Melody , so even £2 is incredible , i know , i know to low but ------------------
Here's a question for you.... How much do you think a live gig should be? I've racked figures about in my brain and compared to how much they would get if the venue was full. Obviously the venue would sell drink, food and the bands merchandise. It's certainly an interesting story to see unfold. Personally I'd like to see it at £10 but think it may be £20 or higher. What a perfect time for MelodyVR to piggy back their viewer onto a sale or an up-sale but I don't know if its on the production line or not.
The_Modeller.... being is 163 doesn't make the slightest bit of difference. To hit the top 5 really on just one event was really unprecedented. If tickets are getting sold via Ticketmaster then they do the advertising for us.. The dice has started to roll and we've started of with a free shot.
