Ignore prevoius message. MTVW WILL BE excluded from the All Share Index on 17 Jun 2016 on liquidity grounds.
Well MTVW not excluded from All Share Index after all. http://www.ftse.com/products/index-notices/home/getnotice/?id=1535523
There seems to be some likelihood that MTVW will fail the liquidity test for the All Share on June 17 and thus be expelled from the Index. This may produce some price weakness over the next three weeks, and could be a good buying opportunity. Price levels on Mountview-type housing assets continue to be strong even in the London area, where the market up to £700K has remained buoyant this spring, as the Grainger management commented in their analysts meeting last week. MTVW NAV could well now be north of £200 per share (pretax).
Apologies ignore previous post- wrong site.
I think we need to look at this option as we are not currently being listened to by the BOD.
I share your incredulity re. day to day pricing. The big picture however is intact-despite going ex . the 200p div in a few weeks the stock has held up ever so well despite market weakness. Most of us are in for the ride based on the rock solid fundamentals of a reliable earnings stream heavily underpinned by residential bricks and mortar (over £160 a share),conservatively run by a capable team. Market makers cannot change the inevitable upward march but patience is required and will , I believe,be rewarded as it has always been thus far.
where do they dissapear 2 we get a sale of 1 share priced at 5% above all the days trade i look at myportfolio total and next morming its back down what do i not understand? tell me Bev 88
Gri clearing the decks who knows?
I for one am very happy that the interim dividend has been doubled to 200p, hence avoiding heavier taxation later in the year, as very satisfactory. I make no reference to the final dividend. Clearly you can't please everrybody!
bringing forward the payment hardly counts as a stonking increase
Mountview continue to perform -clearly firing on all cylinders with a stonking increased interim-a truly class act!
someone might have an idea about the last few months trading perhaps its difficult to replace stock when every one and her dog is into buy 2 let ?
One or two short term holders have taken the discount to assets to over 40%. When added to low borrowings, sound management and increasing dividend,if anybody knows of better value elsewhere, please let us know!
As usual today's results justify faith of us long term holders with big div. uplift as a bonus.Hard to imagine a better home for one's cash. Well done to all concerned!
Nice rise today. Have i missed something, or could this be down to post election sentiment?
With a NAV of £160 I don't see any point in trying to second guess recent price action. With such a transparent business model, this is simply a proxy for investing in property. Patience required with this one.
Following the surge on the realisation that the asset value is around £160 a share , together with tipsters promoting the stock,.short term punters have inevitably been sucked in and are now departing. This will leave things for those of us who are in for the journey to enjoy the resumption of a steady upward trajectory where simple logic of heavily discounted value, expertly managed, will prevail. A share split might be helpfull.
Bought another 500 this morning not showing in share trades but my purchase on 16th now showing out of sequence any one explain??
There appears some steady hands invested here and i often get wise words when questioning whats going on. I sold half of mine at 11500 as I need profit like any newish investor but still think something is in the pipeline so staying in for whatever lies ahead. Something or someone is taking this down at the moment.
i seem to remember buying 500 this morning cant see any mention must check the contract note
Plumpicker - Attendees at the AGM last year heard Mr Sinclair say that we was considering retirement. The business model has finite life as housing let on pre 1982 regulated tenancies becomes scarcer and scarcer over the next few years. An eventual sale or winding down of the business is a distinct possibility, but the board is likely to take its time considering all the options. Meanwhile the business is still likely to be growing more valuable day by day. The recent publicity may have attracted buyers with rather shorter term boredom thresholds than Mountview's customary shareholders - guess they want to move onto something zippier - which leaves stock for us to buy at a lower price. Patience is required with this share.
Something driving price down?
Found this. http://maynardpaton.com/2014/04/18/mountview-estates-plc-why-im-up-70-in-3-years/ I know mainly old news but the last bit caught my eye again about Mr Sinclair again and wondered if anyone had thoughts on the last two paragraphs and how any move would impact on shareprice?
ST from IC has included this in his portfolio - suggest some movement upwards today.
A bit of a milestone that... buys and sells at £100 per share plus a £1 per share dividend in the new year.
