As usual i will stick my kneck out and say there will be light at the end of the Tunnel here. If not then we have moved on but i just feel Apple would be liable on similar design after a company who was developing similar ideas. So we will see. As long as the BOD havent switched company or gain i am hapy to take the loss as i am sure most are. So pitty to lose contact if the curtains finally draw. Goodluck in all ur future ventures in life. GLA BT
parkez, nonsense I agree but a method in his madness........ next thing you know he will be "suggesting" we all follow the ****terers Doc Holliday & Tom Winnipoo
bloch THAT IS THE BIGGEST LOAD OF NONSENSE YOU HAVE EVER POSTED!!!
cassius - "Parkez, I think that we can learn a lot from the experience" parkez - "thanks, i,m sure we all will have learnt something from this" Both these statements are wrong and explains why people make the same investment mistakes and mistakes in life in general over and over again. You cannot learn from your experience. All you can do is make a judgement based on your past experiences which can be different for everybody. Somethings in life you can learn. You can learn to ride a bike, you can learn to drive and you can learn to swim. You cannot learn to invest. If you could none of us here would be doing 9 - 5 jobs for some of us here have been investing for many years in the case of myself decades. if you could learn from investing we'd all be in the Bahamas with MrBigbux. The trick to avoiding investment mistakes is not to rely on your own judgement for that is clouded by your own personal experiences but to rely on the judgement of others. Speak Later.
KNIGEKL You are partially right. The BHS brand name has been acquired by the Al Mana Group. However the ex BHS online business is still trading despite the collapse of the original parent company.
cassius, thanks, i,m sure we all will have learnt something from this...for me being the first share i bought i have learnt a tremendous amount. good luck to you and all past and curerent mtv shareholders.
Parkez, I think that we can learn a lot from the experience. Good luck in your future trading.
KNIGELK...what makes you think that will happen? what parts of the business do you think will make them money? do you think the contracts with digiturk/mediaset/siyaya are still ongoing? the tablet tv concept is not wanted it seems, what parts will they keep?
cassius, sorry after rereading my post it does sound as though i,m expecting some return...i was in fact referring to learning from the experience and using it to make money trading.
Parker, I honestly cannot see us getting anything back. As you say- hopefully we learn something from the experience. For me, I've finished with the Aim market. Plenty of opportunities to make money with the bigger companies. Also if the market is saying that a company is worth a few hundred grand then it's not going to be worth 10s of millions which is what I was hoping. The market does get things wrong but not very often THAT wrong.Oh well we live and learn.
Just to correct you on an earlier post - a company has acquired the online business of BHS and set it up online as British Home Stores - some of the employees who worked for the online part of the business are now employed with this NEW company. They have decided to keep the name because it is so well known. The bricks and mortar side of the business is no longer. As for MTV - that is what may happen here - any part worth saving will be acquired from the administrators but I don't they will maintain the MTV name - it's not really that well known - except for a few BB posters here...
parkez - "what about the constant referrals to Apple" Apple was not the only company they mentioned. They also mentioned ties with Google and the BBC. The directors also alluded to talks with major broadcasters during Proactive interviews. Anything that could ramp the stock was used. I cannot emphasise hard enough THE STOCK WAS THE COMPANY. The company only collapsed when it could not issue any further stock. With regards to the spike it was not the nomad that insisted on the announcement it was the AIM regulators. The nomads are members fo the London Stock Exchange not MTV. The AIM regulators can hold the nomad personally responsible for the loss of investor funds if they are seen to be aiding and abetting a false market. The nomad ordered MTV to put out "no reason" statement to protect themselves. Had MTV disobeyed the nomad could have resigned and the end shareholders faced in 2016 could have come two years earlier.
the photo of tim cook doing the tablet tv sign (bet Len thought all his christmases had come at once when he came across that photo lol). the video posted of the place shifting just before an Apple event. so easy in hindsight to see this now. roll on monday lets get a conclusion to all this, take a deep breath, learn from the experience and hopefully get a few bob back.
Well if he was spinning me a yarn and he never expected Tablettv to sell - then Bloch's theory makes perfect sense.
I think that we all hoped that there was so much more but I honestly got the impression at the time that everything else relied on Tablettv selling in large numbers. At one time there wash a decent article (review) written that kick started a few hundred units being sold. It was one Sunday morning and Len was as excited as a 6 year old at Christmas. I can only assume that selling Tablettv was that crucial to the company.
but it the form that tablet tv was in why would he with all that tv experience really expect it to sell? some many similar products out there. integration of two techs to produce an average product....not good business sense but he was always full of theres more promised and i believed him. so what about content express...what happened to that? is this the same Len thats just wrote the company history and blames everything on everybody else but himself? dont want to get bitter about all this its now history but at this moment in time it appears we have all been mugged . what was going to happen when ATSC3 is implimented? tablet tv with its tuner would be obsolete, i was always under the impression and i was hoping this was only a prototype...seems it wasent.
Hi cassius, the problem with the lack of sales of TabletTV is that apart of us shareholders, nobody else really knew about it, so much more old have been done with the Internet age for practically free. Will send you an email soon for a catch up.
Len a lot at that time and when it didn't sell he was so deflated, his whole attitude changed. He became very defensive in his emails. I think that if Tablettv had sold it would have opened doors for them but it didn't and the rest is history.
Parker, I think that it is partly true but I think that they had a t of faith in Tablettv selling and it just never took off. I was in contact with
bloch, unless some amazing news crops up in the next few weeks then i have to accept that what you have stated reference executive lifestyles to be true. we all live and learn.
longing for hope? no bloch i have accepted whats in store for us pis a long time ago and wrote off the money. its just a need now to find the truth as to what has happened over the last few years and the final outcome. no financial news from the company (that they are legally obliged to reveal) since Dec 2014...why? ALSO when you think its all over something crops up tp get the pulses racing again!
parkez - "millions spent and years of development but i cant see what was worth all the effort and cash as yet." Whether selling Tablet TV or horse meat the purpose was to facillitate executive lifestyles. Six figure salaries for ten years. Pension posts as big as HM Treasury. Free trips to Las Vegas, Spain, Italy etc. Private education for the kids. Company cars, company medical insurance, the lot. That is what all the effort was for and it was worth every single penny. The end came prematurely because of the nomad resignation which meant no more access to your money on jam tomorrow promises and misleading statements.
well to me the question is have they actually developed any thing worth starting over again with? all we have a device that does not seem to be selling very well. they have spent millions integrating the two technologys to produce what? at this moment in time just the same as whats available from plenty of other sources. unless theres something still to be revealed then i cant see either selling the tech or starting over again. millions spent and years of development but i cant see what was worth all the effort and cash as yet.
parkez There is no definitive deadline for dissolution. Companies website or the First Gazette often says X months from such a date. It is not always the case. From your previous posts I can see you have read the administrators report. There are secured creditors owed millions. There is another list of unsecured creditors owed millions including Sanlam Securities the nomad £27k. There is list of shareholders as long as the third Heathrow runway. The administrator whilst still carrying out his investigations has concluded there is no money to satisfy the creditors. He is looking at things like the possible transfer of tax losses to certain secured creditors. Above all posters parkez your longing for hope touches something deep within me.
All guesswork at present, none of the top brass have taken positions elsewhere, still reads Motive Television PLC. Considering all the bad publicity and let's just say some 'slightly questionable' interviews/RNS'S, it will just look too suspect to start all over again, announcing big contracts etc - all without shareholders.
