Anyone care to predict the next trade price? I'm going out on a limb with 6.044. Looks like we are staying here until we get some good news.....SB
Morning all - as much as i would like you to be correct on the .fit pricing Tap - i just cant see how that could be the case based on the volume of registrations and the random registrations. Another c.5K today - great numbers - but i think we have to assume these are low value dollar registrations in the hope of decent renewal numbers and as such probably aligned to the .vip and .work propositions. Probably promotional work in the background we dont have clear visibility on. Some interesting chat at domainincite dot com at the moment in relation to a potential new release of gtld's now the 2012 is pretty much done. Some interesting observations from our very own Christa Taylor - certainly a lot of data analysing going on which would support the recent surge in registrations. Wonder when the next round starts and if we will be around to participate!! SB
let's hope all the new .fit ones aren't freemium eh Tap.lol
Yes I believe Sunday has it right .
Again don’t know the details but as an example mmx can “ reserve “. Say 500k .luxe names which means they are not registrations or listed in the dns they are just made “ unavailable “ for general registration , but are “ reserved “ ready to be registered in day a particular time period via a particular channel . I think the other approx 500k non dns names referred to are those “ name spun variations “ under the premium adult block scheme . Whereby for a few thousand bucks a major brand name can block their main name and then thousands of common typos etc are “ reserved “ from registration by others for the same period . So , at least as I understand it , we do get “ paid “ for those “ reservations “ as part of the underlying adultblock order . Again as I understand it we have no cost of goods for those .so for example Facebook may pay the few grand to block Facebook .xxx but also get Facebooj.xxx reserved . Just an example
yes, Sunday, fully agree. My only concern is that many in the blockchain arena prefer to stay 'anonymous ' so to speak, so not sure just how many will take it up, though I do expect it to be material for MMX.
I have taken "reserved" to mean just that, set aside for the pilot project and not otherwise available.I dont see any issue with that and am very much in favour of the initiative taken.I have the Ether .luxe wallet and found it a step change in convenience of use .The pilot scheme being introduced will allow multiple crypto currency use,a further step change. It is important to .luxe that it is "the go to naming convention ,and to offer 500k free for the first year is an excellent strategy. I can tell you from personal experience that the only ones not renewing will be those who come out of the crypto market, it's that transformational to the end user and imho will be transformational to .luxe.
Blimey SJL - you saying we can’t even give them away now!! Only joking you are of course correct - reservations are not sales. What will be interesting is the take up based on the available market from these two chain companies - potentiality indicating a wider global demand - and the growth of what was always a bit of clever domain innovation. Let’s hope adultblock sales are starting to register and we will have a strong final quarter. SB
As you know I study the managements words closely for detail ( wrongly sometimes ) but you will note they do not say “ registrations “ free or paid they day “ reserved for registration “ , big difference
Once used few will go back.
I suppose if they can't sell them then freemium is the only alternative to hopefully get things going. I do think that plenty will renew and pay when they get used to the ease of the thing as it is much much better than what is currently used, namely the 40 alpha numerics.
in other words, no fecker is interested in paying for them! As we can see they have managed to shift a ''massive'' 275 in the last 3 months. Says it all I suppose, hence the giveaway! That's how I read it anyway.
In relation to the .luxe initiative i think this makes sense. Offering 500k blockchain individuals in the two partner companies a first year domain for free could reap big rewards if there is any meaningful renewal in year 2 / which will likely be based on ease of use - and as noted by others who use (Sunday) it is a stellar improvement on the 42 number code. It’s a potentially huge market and first mover advantage could build some decent revenue. SB
''Management is likewise pleased with the Group's continuing progress in monetizing opportunities from its portfolio beyond straight DNS based registrations through its Innovation activity. To that end, it notes that over 0.60m underlying identifiers have already been blocked in the first 106 AdultBlock+ sales, the Group's registrar partners having only just begun introducing the product to their customers in September. Separately, approximately 0.5m onchain identifiers have now been reserved for registration within MMX's .luxe R&D project by the first two wallet partners as part of the freemium strategy being used in the pilot phase to enable wallet providers to offer their users a single simple address solution for the multiple separately addressed wallets per currency each customer has to use.
could this be something to do with the freemiums that has been mentioned?
As it happens we have many premium domains available for paint!! Have a good weekend Tap et al. SB
Anyone care to volunteer being part of the 6.044p sale or purchase club....its a strange price to settle at......!! Wonder how close we at to the .London payment and if it merits an RNS - would be good to get some updates after the strong sales performance in the last month post the interim results and if we will exceed current financial guidance. SB
Yeah, I do feel for SJL as I imagine he has invested a lot of both time and money into the venture and the big opportunity is now gone. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-50073102
Perhaps some of the technology can still be used for other purposes though.
As for the porn block itself, I thought it was an awful idea. To think in a day and age where such a fuss is made of internet cookies, that we might actually ask people to identify themselves (to someone at least) whilst watching porn. Crazy!
They came to their senses as it was obvious it would push people into using things like VPNs, they'd wander off the beaten path to who knows what and hackers/scammers may have a new gold mine to dig from. Possibly making a VPN more and more a household subscription - which is not going to do copyright holders any good and will make any kind of control for governments more difficult.
Ultimately, keeping kids away from porn should just be the job of the parent.
for SJ I take it? Not quite sure what the consequences are but it sounds like his new venture AVsecure has been scuppered somewhat!
'UK's controversial 'porn blocker' plan dropped'
Where are the shares coming from that's what I cant understand. The volume of sells dont look big enough to fill these orders..
Tap - that's the problem with an automated system which attempts to interpret buys/sells based on the ask. I know it doesn't help but at least we can reasonably assume they are purchases - possible more topping up from our II's? Goodness knows what is up with .fit recently - its almost a surge!! Every little helps.....SB
Few interesting trades coming to light in the last 24 hours. Finncap made six buyback trades on the 15th totalling 1.66m – which have now been accounted for apart from the 500k trade at 16.16.35. The purchases were made at an average price of 6.09p, with the last trade at 16.16.47. Within 15 minutes, a further 5.6m shares were traded at an average price of 6.02p. Not huge in the grand scheme of things – but assuming they were purchases then further signs of interest……! SB
MMX insider :) (e-mail)
Welcome to the MMX Insider!
We've combed the domain world for you to bring you:
Newly released expired names Data-centric insights Recent sales Premium names along with relevant news, highlights and interesting trends.
MMX Expired Domains
After a long summer break of sitting on the beach ringing a bell to have a slushy drink delivered (I wish), the MMX Insider is back with new bells and whistles for all of our stakeholders.
First off, I'm pleased to introduce you to the newly, redesigned mmx.co website which was launched last month. The improvements go beyond the design and include:
Find Your Perfect Name - Search for a specific name or a term to see the results across all of our TLDs. The superfast results will let you know if it's available along with the type of name - standard, premium or platinum and how to get it.
Expiring names - An initial version of our expiring names site is now live. It allows users to find expired names using various criteria - views, clicks, etc.
MMX Insiders can login to view additional name data including CTR, EPC, RPM and that little thing called revenue.
Improved search functionality across all of our TLDs
While we are working on additional functions and names, please pay us a visit and let us know what improvements you'd like to see?

Its good to see the increased level of sales activity,as remarked by others.Im particularly pleased to see some .surf activity, now 5k ,double a year ago.Always thought that should be in the tens of thousands. In respect of Adultblock, I'm expecting very good revenue ,its a no brainer offer and a superior product in an increasingly insecure world..Q4 should be a turning point for MMX,.
yes Tap, I take your point it does look a bit pathetic, but I think it's mainly down to it not biting anyone in the bum just yet, and peeps will always wait until the last minute.
Some will hopefully be persuaded to get in before the year end for the discounts, but some will wait until nearer the time in 2021 I expect.
But I see no reason why they can't be looking to target 35k+ reg's (50% of ICM total) before or at renewal time. Time will tell of course. Just being positive Tap..I know it's feckin hard here sometimes..lol
So not all imminent but over the next 18 months it should be very fruitful imo.
for me it's a relatively easy sell once you get a few well known brands onboard and you can 'namedrop' them into the conversation so to speak. You get one or two signed up and the rest will follow imo. They will all take the premium Adultblock+ too...
