What use using the money at 7p when there would be others willing to sell lower after the buyback cash iss used up?
Wipe out the low sellers, as the price settles, and it forms a solid base and results will take it from there.
They did say they wanted to be less sentiment driven and it looks like part of the process.
I would like to see a consolidation too.
Divi or tender, who knows, but things are improving and it will show in the price.

Both bakky. They have some support level in mind and may well be holding fire and not too bright to use all resources until really needed. Ideally forming a very solid base. Use all resources at 6.x pence and what happens if some still happy to let stock go at a lower price?
Results will show through anyway and bought back stock will look to have been a decent investment decision.
No rushing this stuff. Buyback authority will be watching the order book, would hope, and possibly share register too.
is the buyback about support or just let the sp tank so they pay less??
Even if you believe in buybacks ours has been a demonstration in how not to do it...Where was the 7p support? Really poor work.
Maybe it was the legend that is the buyback? Or Turcan?! SB
Dandee, on the face of it looks like a buy as the sp ticked up too?
yes YHAL, I think the markets are thinking there will be some big offloading in the near term too. I've said before my thoughts on SJ/ICM.
Can have an effect.
maybe there will be forced sellers before end of Dec. They will keep the sp low until they have offloaded I expect. So much manipulation it's untrue!!
it is. Trouble is that support is 5.5p it seems!!
I was rather hoping the purpose of the buyback was to reduce the share price volatility and act as a support. Any gain we seem lose. Its a repeat cycle and smacks of manipulation. Frustrated doesn't even come close. SB
Give it a rest Dandee, you’re quest for recommends is boring now.
But I'm well above water. Perhaps you should try it too.
keeps motoring along. Another 30k+ added. Now close to 1.3m reg's. Mind you though, not sure if most are freebies lately?
Too much credit is given to what management decide on return of capital to shareholders. They might run the show day-day with fiduciary duties with a mandate to increase valuation but the best way to return capital will be decided by largest holders who let their wants/needs be known.
Divi, no-divi, management will bend to largest holders. Smaller holders are just along for the ride.
The buyback might even be partially in place in case they annoy smaller holders who then decide to dump and move on. The company won't care. It will care what the largest holders think.
I dont think this is a bad thing so long as market cap rises as a consequence.
Sunday ,
Didn’t read your post until I posted , so “ what he said “ goes ! lol
Bakky ,
A good point and really is part of the $64,000 question . The hope within our logic to do the deal was originally that we knew $ for $ our profit stream with non adult strings was twice what we achieved . We knew that all along and even going in some 15 years ago . With a successful adultblock icm Tlds will for sure make up 50 % more of the bottom line but the hope and expectation is that with 4/31 tlds inside mmx and possibly in due course 4/100+ tlds the profits won’t be broken out by tld and just all contributes to the ebitda in a sexy multiple . As I have repeated ad nauseam the “ rude “ word element of the icm registrations is in a minority and even a cursory look at the 10 MM .org names will yield some eye watering adult related names ... many more fold than any such inside icm . Perception is everything , granted but the dilution of the “ taint “ cannot be underestimated as this gets rolled up into a bigger portfolio one more time . The .org deal I’m sure will have been getting close to a BIllion dollars for sure , on 10 MM names and $50 M ebitda , with large savings to be had . For example rolled up into say donuts .org would save almost a further $18MM they pay to Afilias for back end services and also has to be $10MM+++ pa of PIR costs . With 10 MM names bringing in $100MM revenue and now unlimited scope for price rises , an existing portfolio holder would be salivating at making $80MM a year ebitda from .org , which makes a billion price tag look cheap . So to whomever questioned 147 MM pound , say $180MM + valuation for 1/5 of that ( 2 MM+ names and a carried thru $14/15 MM net of savings ebitda , then yes .. absolutely you could see it to the right buyer and the right time leading to a PE exit or IPO for the consolidator to strap the mmx earnings stream in ... may seem pie in the sky at 6p but there is a pathway to that if management deliver and hold their nerve and fend off opportunistic bids . Any secnerio approaching that is what icm vendors bought into with the deal as we knew , proportionately that was out of reach for us with the adult “ baggage “ .
not quite sure how it can reduce visibility. It's at least 50% of the profits for a start! So I would say it's still quite in your face so to speak.
When ICM sold it was only adult content,The whole perpose of the sale was to extract better value by way of the mix with MMX .A sale of MMX now would further reduce the porn content visibility, thus in my view a non issue.
Pretty stupid of Toby & co to withold on the dividend route to favour US holders of the stock!!
Dandee, be nice to clear 7p, never mind 8p..lol.
very disappointing they are not buying shares??
put it this way Sunday. If I was looking to buy, I would certainly ask the question and I fully expect others will too.
well I believe it was a consideration when ICM were trying to sell, why not now? I am fairly sure whoever (if) is interested they will bring that ball into play.
