"This is looking very good now." Agree. Last thing on Friday I had an opportunity to add to my holding at just over 47.3p, but wanted to do some more research rather than just jump in. Today, like yesterday due to work commitments, I was less in a position to add (at a higher price) and when I had the chance noticed the price was still heading North. Perhaps I should put a buy order in for tomorrow at a set price. I always prefer to average UP and never down but at the same time don't want to feel uncomfortable with any holding especially as I have been caught a few times this year. Good luck all CM
This is looking very good now .
forget about today this is a very good investment for long term.
I was wondering why the share price fell today. Looking at the final results I found the following: Dividend "The Group's continuing strong cash generation enables the Board to maintain a progressive dividend policy whilst continuing to invest in the business. The Board is proposing an annual dividend of 1.4p (2016: 1.00p), which is an increase of 40%. If approved by the shareholders at the Annual General Meeting on 8 May 2018, the dividend will be paid on 11 May 2018 to shareholders on the register at the close of business on 3 April 2018". Note: dividend will be paid to shareholders on the register at the close of business on 3 April 2018 (today). That surely means ex. dividend date is today (not yesterday as ADVFN seem to be indicating). Share price tends to fall back by the amount of the dividend on ex. dividend date. Often private investors see the share price falling and sell rather than realise it is down to the company going ex. dividend. So, if we add on the 1.4p dividend onto todays close mid price we get 42.9p - not so bad after all.............or have I missed something. GLA CM
Thanks. Miton also backed with a lot of cash and with an increases sustainable dividend should be a holding for income funds and its
Hi Skid. No, you are not the only small investor with an interest here. I bought in yesterday at 43p. Nice to see a quiet board; usually a good sign. The following link (if it works) may be of interest to you: https://www.stockopedia.com/share-prices/miton-LON:MGR/ I did a trawl on Super Stock companies with a high rank using the stockopedia website. It threw up a number of companies along with MGR. I liked what I saw within the financial summary and other figures given. It is way off most folks radar. I am not expecting a great deal in the short term but hoping for steady growth. I am not looking for excitement and no longer want to fly by the seat of my pants and am quite happy to find "boring" companies to invest in. There were a couple of very large trades during the day, showing at mid price. Not sure if they were buys or sells. May well be there will be a RNS tomorrow to clear things up.....or not. When was the write up in IC?. Not sure I believe any target price by any one to be honest, seen them too often, but better to have a positive target than a negative one. Regards CM
Am I the only small investor with an interest here ? Would be nice to hear from others views. Good right up in ic with a new target price at 55
Bought in at 35 and hopefully should go up to 50 with rise in aum. This is a quality company which is undervalued, would be interesting if they pay a special dividend
Modern Water - think you may have misunderstood implications for MGR re this profit warning. It is the unit and investment trusts run by MGR that have 11% stake in Accrol, not MGR plc. A reduction in the value of Accrol shares will therefore directly affect only the value and performance of these trusts and not the value of MGR shares. I think therefore waiting for a 10% pullback is wishful thinking unless the marker really takes a dive. Had these shares for some time and seen steady progress - hopefully more to come although would not be surprised to see them involved in a merger or being bought out at some stage.
Major bad news from Accrol this morning, with one of the worst RNS announcements I have seen for some time from a company on my Watchlist. I was glad not to have a position in them, however realised MGR have a near 10% holding in Accrol. Currently (although suspended trading) their current holding is worth 1.32p = ~11.6m. If the SP halves, it is nearly 10% of their market cap. I have therefore sold in MGR as did not want to take a risk. I may buy back after any pull back. GLA DYOR
Going in the right direction, probably drop knowing my luck lol.
Great set of results for the full year, big increase in the dividend and lots of cash on the balance sheet. Not surprised to see the SP rise today.
The director buy underpins 31p, and hopefully should get this up to 35p
Skid - not sure what the next catalyst will be here, but they have built up a large chunk of cash on the balance sheet. What they do with this may trigger further movement on the share price. There will proably be close to £20 million in cash by the end of the year, on a company with a market cap of only £52 million, which leaves a very low valuation of the underlying business.
What is the next catalyst here?
Rugs - Good call on the SP reaching 30p
Honest answer is no. But if they were sales they must be pretty hacked off at what they could have achieved by hanging on for a few days.... rgds
Good morning rugs, and all. Do you know if those two £300k+ trades were sells or buys? Regards.
the share price will consolidate around the 30p level and not gradually slip back to the mid 20's. Some of their more recent investments are looking pretty good.
Looking the last finance statement. At dec 2015 this company has total equity of 58m pounds that is 45 per cent higher then current mcap. Very good operating cash flow as well 1.1m pounds . Manager director hold 5pc of the company? Why is it so undervalued?
Seems a quick turnaround here Rugs as it is now falling like my name. I agree it is a stonking buy apart from the uncertainty that these leavers have created. I don't really understand the harsh reaction though as it would only concern me if Gervais was leaving. I might sneak in and undercut your buy-in price of 27p Rugs.
most of the trades shown this morning in the 27.5-27.7 range are buys not sells unless my broker is getting his numbers wrong....
Agreed. they came from the same place and leaving together. Way oversold in my view so have bought in at 27p
Has the market over done the loss of 2 FMs here? They're on long notice periods and can't take the funds with them...
any catalyst for the recent uptick - I cannot see any press release / analyst comment
