Mathsman Good luck to you. I always feel this BB is rather less frenetic and more relaxed than others. And investors here polite. It says in the Fundamentals there is a yield. I thought the last dividend was suspended. Be nice if they resumed.
correction - 2011, forgot how old I am.
Bruce, well done at 550 -
I put the cash from my pension lump sum in at 105 in 2012 after seeing how much time the young guys I worked with spent gambling on line. Never have myself - except for this of course!
I could have made a lot more by trading in and out - if I'd got it right - but I'm waiting for £20 to see the grand spogs off to a good start.
good luck all.
my purchase price of 550 looking quite good. be nice if div could resume!
History suggests exiting non-regulated markets if you want to buy, sell, or appease the US, so probably a good thing moving forward...

So much growth potential across USA, South America, Africa, and now with esports and the recent 'Overweight' rating from Morgan Stanely, its strange this is not rising steadily towards 1,200p and above.
Finances barely affected by the initial COVID lockdown and I expect the same this time around... go GVC!

Great trading update with increases on line offsetting store closures - expecting sp rise today.
following strong share price run, William Hill target cut to Caesars bid price
In a separate note, Peel Hunt revisited its forecasts for other London-listed gambling firms exposed to the US sports betting and online gaming market and concluded that both Ladbrokes owner GVC Holdings PLC (LON:GVC) and 888 Holdings PLC (LON:888) were “undervalued” than previously thought. As a result, Peel Hunt raised its target for GVC to 1,600p from 1,200p and retained a ‘buy’ rating, while 888 was also kept at ‘buy’ while its target was lifted to 350p from 300p.
“It is clear that the US market is growing rapidly, both on a [like-for-like] basis within states, and as a result of new states regulating sports betting and, in some cases, online gaming”, Peel Hunt said, highlighting that despite disruption from coronavirus, gross revenue from the US was up 99% year-on-year in the year to September.
“US sports betting and online gaming gross revenue is growing quickly, and companies with a share of that revenue are attracting high valuations”, the broker continued, although they added that investors will “have to take a lot on trust” as state-level revenue figures were “telling only a partial story about growth, and individual company accounts muddled by investments to drive growth in hope of winning a profitable market share later”.
Shares in Flutter were down 5.8% to 12,610p in mid-morning trading, while GVC rose 1.1% to 987.4p and 888 fell 0.3% to 250.4p.

Dip thank you MMs lol
Not often you say that
Stronger than expected with an additional £50mill profit expected + growing strongly in the US & decent bolt on acquisition.
Great Results from 888 , which bodes well for our trading statement in a couple of weeks & it will be interesting to see our progress in the US together with confirmation of our growing US market share .

William Hill in talks with two prospective bidders.
Any reason for the sudden rise?
888 still cheap
Bill Hill
With the bid and ask almost the same the algo is going to be inaccurate.
GVC has pretty big ups and downs but seems on an uptrend.
Hoping for £9+ soon and no new anti-gambling laws that govts love to impose.
MrB, these so-called buys and sells are just rubbish. It's a computer Algo that looks at every trade; If the price is closer to the bid than the ask, it calls it a "Sell". If the trade price is closer to the ask, then it labels it a "Buy".
It's nonsense. I did two trades this am. The first was a sell. Halifax got me a great quote, very close to the ask. The algorithm labelled it a Buy. The second was a purchase, and again a good sharp quote, closer to the bid and the Algo called it a Sell. Both entirely wrong.
That's the reason you'll see prices rise when the daily total so-called sells outnumber the buys. Last week there was a day when the sales in William Hill were double the number of buys and the SP rose by several percent.
Go figure. It's very misleading info' and I don't know why these websites insist on labelling the trades as Buys or Sells.
So double the number of buys over sells & our SP falls while over @ wmh the opposite occurred & their SP increased strongly -go figure !

Here's an relaxed podcast with GVC's Director of Regulatory Affairs, Martin Lycka covering a wide range of topics like the regulatory outlook in certain key markets, GVC's view on player protection as a road to a more sustainable future, will the US election determine the future of their gambling market? And much more.

good broker ratings including a reiteration from barclays for 1050
its complicated because of all the takeovers. i still have hopes; trust they are not misplaced
Great news!
However is it a concern that GVC seem to be making a loss each year? I'm struggling to establish what I would consider to be the inherent value the company (off the trailing figures even)
Hopefully this will help..

RNS is out rubbishing media speculation.
Ah here we go. Sub 700p we go. Watching curiously on the sidelines here
so I believe the fall is justified to be honest
If this drops sub 700p I will be very tempted because otherwise GVC are a really solid business

The UK Bribery Act 2010 incorporates Section 7 entitled "Failure To Prevent Bribery." This section has been established with the purpose to set out company liability for corrupt activity committed by their employees or associated persons, which demonstrates the intention to create an advantage in the conduct of business for their organisation. If an organisation can prove that they have implemented adequate procedures to protect against bribery and corruption, then they will be protected, if they cannot demonstrate this, then they will be at risk of an unlimited fine. Therefore, sound understanding of Section 7 of the Bribery Act 2010 is essential.
I just hope for all of our sake they have been following the strict guidelines, or they are open to a unlimited fine from HMRC!
