Took a slice at 139.5p five year high .
Market liked the trebling of dividend Rns.
Trimmed a bit here too, you got to.
Took another slice D 148p.
Sold W 150.37 , on the 150p order the +0.37p worth extra £13.
Sold all the holding in X order 155.5p got 155.75p.
No deal execution email from them.
Buys with them 1/4/15 at 93p 17/3/15 at 99p.
13 year wait .
They showed a gain of over twice 60% but that made no difference as had above target for these ones .
Bought in ISA 142p
Sold half the 23rd August ISA buy, back for 161.17p lifted 3pm .
Could not get 160p yesterday and for over a week.
Company buying back own shares rns's
Was going to sell that whole buy , changed mind today.
Thank God I "changed mind today." as posted on 20th September below.
Up to 176.5p today's new 10 year high.
Did not look so wise 24th October when it fell back to 144p , nearly back to the 22 August 2023 top up price of 142p
Is private equity/institutional bulding stake or is it buy back also helping SP to go up? Also looks like small shareholders (special those that were given free shares or bought through undesr SAYE OR BAYE) have sold out when sp started going up.
Are interim results due? Could sp rise be due to a dividend announcement?
Yes higher div than forecast would definitely push SP higher but if they have done all the buy back then SP will fall.
Not long to go .
23 November 2023Results for the 27 weeks to 30 September 2023.
Sold the half tranche I held back on 20th September for 178.56p today executed on 178p limit at 9am.
161.17p to 178.56p = 10.5% extra.
FirstGroup hits over 10-yr high on lease deal with Hitachi
Shares of FirstGroup jump as much as 4% to 183p, their highest since May 17, 2013
Stock among top pct gainers on FTSE midcap index
Co to form joint venture (JV) with Hitachi to lease up to 1,000 electric bus batteries for about 100 mln pounds ($123.9 mln)
JV to lease batteries to First Bus over an eight-year period, which can be extended by two years
FGP says partnership expected to contribute about 3 mln pounds per annum to its adjusted earnings by FY26 before any potential operational benefits
Adds, it expects about 20 mln pounds of savings in FY24 capital expenditure
Stock currently at session high, pushing YTD gains to ~77%
So several positive factors driving the sp higher. Hitachi is a good move, as their battery tech' is cutting edge, and they're alrrady involved in other UK and European transport initiatives.
Question is, --- how high can it go?
It took 10 years to turn it around. Quite a change for those who waited, or bought wisely.
21st May 2013.
"First Group Share Price Plunges & No Dividend "
--- "Shares in FirstGroup have plunged 26% after it announced a £615m rights issue in a bid to reduce its debt and said profit had plummeted. The firm, which has extensive rail and bus operations in the UK as well as a bus business in the US, said pre-tax profit had plunged 86.7% to £37.2m. FirstGroup also said Martin Gilbert, who has chaired the firm for 27 years, would be standing down."

These bought today for 161.5p
Forgot I placed a 30 day buy order on 16th November after the sale .
This broker only emails a trade not what the trade was .
Happy enough it was these .
Slightly above the 161.17p first half tranche sale 20th September this year.
Added more money to sale proceeds as available at time, so more shares now in ISA then on 16th November .
They went up 4% to 183p the day after my slice on the 17th November contract RNS .
What a difference 10 days makes to what then looked a bad move .
Bought again ( D ) 159p .
Sold Rolls-Royce @ 260p two mins before , no relation between two trades , just interest to myself in months to come .
Near same value the buy and sell.
RR would be better bet after selling would have been better of buying back RR when the price falls
Sold the 28/11/23 top up for 179p approx 12.5% gain.
I wish I had never herd of the AIM market and stuck to main market .
RoyGa In hindsight I think you were wrong with the RR advise as of today ?
Ripley94 - You would have made 17% and that is not accounting for stamp duty and dealing cost. if you sold RR today. Well still better than making lose. Good luck. 👍
Ripley94- Oh. Also experts get it wrong, so what chance do I have.
RoyGa thank you for correcting me and politely .
I see that know.
I have had sell targets in mind for both FGP hit it RR. has not , I think you most probably have a better chance of getting it right then me .
When I looked at your pie chart yesterday I saw you appear to hold some that I do that will now give me courage .
