More of a red flag i'd say.
Why appoint a new NED now if the company as genuine suitors interested in a sale? Chances are its the same old news, S. Marks still values the business unrealistically and the interested parties are only offering what FC is worth at this stage. Which at today's £20m price tag still remains overvalued.
No company sale and S. Marks remaining in control will result in administration and Hilco acquiring all assets, with all shareholders losing their investment.
The newly appointed NED is a very poor appointment for the brand. A Brand Director of high caliber in buying and design is the only appointment that may save this brand, but as we know they can't work with S. Marks hence Christos leaving after only 10 months service to head up Reiss which he has elevated into a £800m brand since departing FC.
This is particularly good news to get someone of such high caliber on board, clothing sales are bouncing back strongly and FC is getting a lot of positive feedback in the US . Looking forward to the 13th !
Wow some one is desperate to knock the price down further today !
Not a sausage, I would imagine we shall get an update on the 13th April with the results .
While I am confident a sale will go through it’s anyone’s guess as we have been here before multiple times. However now that most of the bricks and mortar liabilities are behind them they should get a decent offer as a pure play brand sale . With new management the brand could make millions in the future so should be worth 50/80p a share.
Has anyone seen any updates or news regarding the possible sale ??
SCS have just reported record sales which bodes well for FC as they had mentioned their branded sofas were selling well at DFS .
This really shows the potential of the brand to promote a wider range of categories.
I feel the takeout price could be surprisingly higher !
There are a large number of share options outstanding for the Directors at 49p , so if you want to win them over that’s probably the magic price !!!
Yes from a business point the company is in a better position compared to last year , sales are obviously dreadful but we need to look at the world after lockdown.
Sales from the 12th will surge as everyone is looking forward to a world out of lockdown.
I noticed in the results that they mention they have new license agreements for the second half which sounds positive.
The share price for the next month is of no interest , my feeling is that it has settled down to 21p which was probably what Mike Ashley sold his stake at. The results are due early April which is when we should find out if they have been sold . If a sale is not forthcoming at 21million I am quite confident they could still grow the business . Continue to expand online , licensing and just hang on to the shops that still turn a profit . The FCUK logo is still a very well know brand and maybe could get a new lease of life in the future, retro is big business these days .
Don't forget to factor in the £15m funding from turnaround specialist Hilco Capital last year
I have completely underestimated the valuation of the company , it appears they have no lease liabilities going forward which is a change from last year of £10 million.
Therefore any purchaser could close all the stores with very little cost , there would be redundancy costs and dilaps but no liabilities on rent etc
What French Connection has is brand that can be associated with a wide range of products, I do think people are going to be quite surprised at the potential take out price and what people are willing to pay .
If it was me I would expand across all categories from footwear to baby wear to jewellery.
I think it will be like this for a while until Mr Mark's makes a decision to sell or not !!
This time around and at 75 he's just after the best offer then things should fly !!
Yes it has been a strange week , dropping 10% in the middle of the day but ending in the blue.
Almost like someone is trying to gather shares on the cheap for some event in the future !
WBJ agreed.
We have had a very strange week so far, a decent finish to the day,.
Hopefully the week would end in with a another decent rise, some good buying momentum although its not fully reflected in the SP.
The key to this situation is Stephen Marks , French Connection is his baby from creation to the present. It is a brand with huge potential that requires fresh management.
Marks has been trying to turn things around but time has caught up with him , at 75 he must realise that the time has come to throw in the towel and sell .It will happen just needs patience.
I was right about Carclo and I am convinced the valuation at 20 Million is a screaming buy.
My target is 43/49p with Next , ASOS and Go global looking to take the prize.
I’m in them for over 10k could of sold last week at 26p but hanging in as I just think asos or someone will come along and snap them up very soon might be a week a month or even 6months but don’t need the money at the moment so will just leave it in.

Yes there are issues with posts updating on LSE board, nothing seems to work most of the time including Level2.
Yes, I was referring to shorter's, however it may also include your day traders/mm's etc, looks like we are just being taken the P... out off, its so frustrating to see big drops.

Apols for posting twice, my first message didn't come through and I waited 10 mins and reposted. LSE eh!
I think he means MMs or Day Traders
I think he's referring to the MMs and day traders
Who are you talking about? No one on here has kicked the share?
I really don't understand how some of these guys actually sleep at night.
They go out of their way to kick the share price down as much as possible, disregards to other peoples livelihood or how they may be effecting them and their families as long as they make a bit of money.
Don't worry our days will come very soon, then you can burn like hell and also fell our pain...
Morning all did anyone see any updates or reports on what's happening over the weekend ?
Im able to buy through HL!
