Don't be fooled in thinking these are just books about geography.
10 key world regions in each book and considers how they are likely to shape our futures.
It's tomorrow. See you later folks.
Gazala69. I have Power of Geography right next to me now on my bedside table. Great read.
Read the these books by Tim Marshall.
"Tim Marshall is a British journalist, broadcaster and bestselling author who has written and reported widely on foreign affairs, international diplomacy and post-war geopolitics. He started his broadcasting career at LBC and reported for the BBC, before moving onto Sky News, where he worked as a longstanding Foreign Affairs Editor and subsequently their Diplomatic Editor. In his two decades at Sky News, he reported from over thirty countries, covering the events of twelve wars and various conflicts.
In 2015, Marshall published Prisoners of Geography – an international bestseller that was adapted for younger audiences in 2019 as Prisoners of Geography: Our World Explained in 12 Simple Maps. His other works include Worth Dying For (2016), Divided (2018), Shadowplay (2019) and The Power of Geography (2021)."
An amazing author / correspondent who know his onions.
See you tomorrow folks.
Ukraine build up is Russian for no more NATO build up on it's borders.
Is Russia at the point of "nothing to lose", no.
So we just shuffle the pack, put a few lines in the sand and move on.
(Longer term, Russia has the resources, China has the money and manpower...it will get ugly in the future)
Why do countries like Russia want to go to war?
You could understand it if the country has nothing to lose but Russia has loads to lose.
If you cut the 100,000 Russian soldiers that are on the border in half, do you really think they want to fight the Ukrainians?
When will the Russian elite stop being paranoid. You borders are safe - no country in the West wants to invade you via Ukraine.
Mind you, war is a good thing for testing your latest weaponry. Does it work? What can we do to improve it? Shall we shelve it? Is there a market for this weapon - can we sell it to our allies?
War. What is it good for? Absolutely nothing!
Putin is hanging off until the deal is done .
Russia invade Ukraine! ha ha ha, will not happen.
Russia has taken back back what it wanted in Ukraine (Crimea) which was always Russian heartland and handed to Ukraine administration during soviet times. Putin does not want to inherit the economic and political mess in Ukraine.
The rest is all propaganda games both sides play.
American agenda press .
Do real research.
There will be no invasion.
Bumble. Good reply. I agree with what you said long term. I just think from what I’ve seen over last couple of years the market will use any thing they can to create volatility.
If someone sneezes the market reacts.
I agree Caw, but we now have a few troops over there. Plus Truss fancies her chances of being the next Thatcher.
I’m not sure we should try to play bluff with Putin. Hopefully the yanks don’t have the stomach for a skirmish so far away from home. NATO will be toothless without them.
Jonny,
It might be a fair question but it will have no impact on any sale or JV.
Companies plan years in advance and although there are issues with doing certain types of business with Russian companies Eurasia mining is a UK listed and plenty of UK and American companies do business there.
BP even owns 19.75% of Russia's Rosneft and it hasn't done them any harm.
There are also plenty of ways around any issues, you tend to find this particularly when the commodities are needed by those countries on their "soapbox" ....Russian oil and gas being a prime example!
Am I worried? Not at all!
Sorry wrong link
Ukraine and Russia issued statements Tuesday noting the worsening of a conflict that has been on a low simmer for years, with countless cease-fires.

Definitely a fair question.
It’s brewing but I hope nothing happens as it’s bad for everyone not just EUA. Don’t need anything else to happen this decade.
I think it’s a fair question. If it’s possible for MM’s, Br to use it to create more volatility they will.
No invasion
Russian business expansion on the Kola, artic and Sakhalin though .
The shares can't be frozen, they're on the UK stock exchange.
Er.......no
Tentacles all over your deramping phone.
Does the probable Russian invasion of Ukraine have a detrimental effect on EUA? If the West imposes massive sanctions against Russia, will this mean shares are 'frozen' or will such business be allowed to continue without hindrance?
