I agree - missed that a 10% dividend seems rather respectable! Also, the release today takes a cautious approach, but not one that justifies this rock-bottom price. I hope to see this much higher early next year.
i bought a small amount also today.. i would like to hold this stock on a long term basis for the divi.. allabest
Points noted. I topped up today at 66p, due to the following: - completely under valued ref NAV - the general UK, EH hotels tourist is most probably not as affected by Brexit as the Spanish tourist - they are expanding! - I don't believe the £ will drop much more, so cancel parity party plans! GLA
Skippy.. yep looks like Currency and UK economy concerns regarding possible Hard Brexit .. given high NAV any rebound in GBP/USD rate and better soft landing outlook would signal strong rebound.. think until we get better info on economic outlook sp will be depressed.. RNS today seems to address these concerns but forecast wasnt particularly negative
Anyone any ideas other than Brexit and the huurricane? Seems a drastic drop.
Maybe you are right, although the majority of tourists are from the UK. I too like the dividend, so long as I do not have to realise the capital loss! Anyone else got any views or research?GLA
I sold at the low of 63p a few weeks ago in a bit of a panic, even though I bought them a few weeks before that thinking "I'll hold onto these for a while as the value will eventually be recognised..." I may be tempted to buy back in as the half-year dividend will be about 5% at this level (10% on full year), NAV much higher than current price. My guess is a US operator will buy this on the cheap once the hurricane season has done its worst...
Topped up at 71p, and will do again if it drops below 67p. Brexit fears maybe over-egging this down-turn, but as sure as eggs are eggs, there will still be plenty of well to do Brits wanting to holiday in B'dos at EH establishments!
I still think this is massively under-valued ref NAV, and the div yield.
Spoke too soon ! Look at the spread - buy still at 77p. Market makers and no volume to boot!
I owned some last year and sold at 105p. Was lucky rather than clever. Bought back in this week, as I agree with the comments made below re NAV and div return. At 57 years old, I will travel to Barbados, and other pleasant locations, with my wife and children - I have absolutely no fear of the virus, and that must be the same for 98% of the population who are not trying for a family. ie. the effect of the virus is on a very small % of the potential market re hotel beds. Interesting high volumes, and then virtually no trades - think this will regain a lot of its losses in the mid-term. GLA
With all your winnings book your holiday now ! Or buy some shares at half asset value and as they go up you will be able to afford one. Just see- www.eleganthotels.com
With their assets worth 175p ,making profits and an 8% dividend the shares in this hotel group are too cheap having fallen to this low level caused by fears of the Zika virus.. The cheapness of the shares has just been Highlighted in the IC WITH A BUY RATING. Should bounce a lot higher
A lot of buying activity going through this share today. I see Directors wife buying more shares also following directors top ups. Have not bought into this yet but fundamentals look very good net asset value to m/cap is very impressive.
I was looking forward to the results tomorrow but after a significant fall today (when the share price normally move) I have a bad feeling - I hope I am wrong
Good background of new cfo, hopefully a good addition
Bloody mosquitos!
2.5 mills worth of trades just gone through,in three chunks.
