I would agree that an IPO would be good news from a "valuation" perspective as it provides a "mark to market". The downside is, of course, that it is likely to be a significant "dilution" for existing shareholders as the capital is then drawn down to pay for overhead.
Why would they exit by Christmas? The cash burn is high but considering we have a significant pipeline of trials it is worth the cost IMO. I think the next financing will involve the Americans and for a significant amount. The US listing looks likely and is a smart move for the company to attain a fair valuation for the platforms we have.
The RNS says that they will look for a partner to take Blautix forwards if the trial is successful and they are in talks about this. It’s clear that they are focusing resources now on MRx-0518 (oncology), MRx-4DP0004 (Asthma and Covid) and are keen to develop their two neurodegeneration strains. Blautix and Thetanix are likely to be licensed out to a partner, either a fellow LBP developer or a larger pharma who is interested in the microbiome space, Takeda has crossed my mind. Takeda have shown interest in the microbiome, particularly in GI disorders and have already formed partnerships with Enterome and Debiopharm.
The dilution wasn't in Directors interest. They know their cash burn is unsustainable. It makes me think their exit strategy is sell by Christmas.
They were looking at a NASDAQ listing 5 years ago at circa $20 and look at it now! What price this time eh?
Its not ideal but I'm not overly concerned about it. The Directors are pumping an additional £500k into it - that shows confidence. It's funds for growth and they're on the cusp of something, potential Nasdaq listing too. If you're in for a short term investment its not what you want but long term - it could be a very interesting time ahead. GLA
It would explain why there have been so many institutional sellers in the market of late. They can buy back all their shares now at a heavy discount to their recent sale prices...
Funded until Q4? Several on this board had been predicting this and have come in for some serious derision and criticism - I think those that have been ****ging them off ought to hold their hands up and offer them an apology, It also goes to show that many on here that claim to know what they are talking about actually know no more than anyone else and their smug superiority is based on nothing but hot air.....
On my part it actually allows me to buy some more, so am unconcerned. It puts a few more coffers in the bank and allows time for the current projects to reach completion.
Deep joy and at quite a discount too..... :0(
