was empty around here on Friday night, totally empty
Even the projectionist had the night off...
Yeh he was on a date with the usherette I hear.
Empty? Haha I was at cineworld Edinburgh at 5pm and the JC showing I tried to see was sold out
Maybe is local cinema doors were closed to keep the draft out.
My son ,GF and boy went to cineworld in Six fields Northampton, full.
Said he'd not seen so many people gathering for 18 months
So wre exactly was that totally empty Cineworld then daft???
In the grand scheme of things empty or full cinema experience by each of us here in UK matters very little.
Look at where the company has c75% of its business.
Clearly cinemas are not rammed full every cinema across the UK (they haven't been for decades to be fair).
Still social distancing in Scotland (Cineworld has kept it throughout UK for now haven't they!?).
Total UK box office have a look then compare it to USA and to 2019.
We are recovering month on month.
Cinema isn't empty all day every day, neither is it full all day every day.
UK small beer for cineworld and July US box office ended as I predicted on 25th July at c. 45% of 2019 totals (44.xx% I believe) month on month making progress, with a way to go yet.
10 days now let's hope for some encouraging details with substance from half year accounts.
Social distancing now relaxed more than previously in Scottish Cineworld. Previously they were only using every 2nd row and had to have three empty seats between each person/couple/group of guests. Now they are using all rows and only leaving 2 empty seats between parties so actually potential for a cinema to be more than 50% full now. A handful of Cine's in Scotland wont do much to the share price, but nice to not feel like the room is almost empty for a change! Jungle Cruise tomorrow then suicide Squad at the weekend :-)
Hopefully another 5% rise today and get back in the 70’s
