Wonder whats coming next...
Sells @ 11p today!
I took some today and expect this to bounce, RSI under 30 shows oversold backed up by the MFI showing under 20 again oversold. A reversal will happen very soon here! Also Bollinger bands narrowing another sign there is about to be a change in momentum to the upside!! Will the GIANT FRENCH MEDIA company buy more of BST?? My guess is they will and quite possibly will takeover this company.
Yeah dead right! I got suckered into having a little punt, now down something like 50%. Just glad I didn't go in too heavy which I nearly did, with the strong tipping. No sign of this outfit turning a profit anytime soon. Wouldn't be surprised to see Ipsos taking them over on the cheap, leaving many small PI's well out of pocket. Surely they can't sustain these heavy ongoing losses for too much longer ?
Wow! Amazing TW tip that was to see 50p last year!
You'd think so Baz. Still trading at a big discount to the Ipsos sale as well. Looks like bored PIs selling shares. Can't blame them, the team haven't exactly put forward a compelling investment case recently. I was expecting more frequent contract wins indicating genuine disruption and driving top line growth and scale, we are effectively twiddling our thumbs hoping management are doing something.
This is very good news. Tidying up of the balance sheet. Barely any dilution for shares priced well above current price.I have no idea why the price has dropped. Another example of MMs not reading the RNS properly perhaps? Let's move forward for some decent results in the not too distant future hopefully.
Yes that's a pretty fair statement. So far they have proven that the concept can generate revenue. The next step is to do this on a commercial scale and prove they can at least cover their overheads and over the longer term develop a recurring revenue stream. While they like to boast about the strength of their client base, its not a significant amount of revenue, and I get the impression it includes a high proportion of non recurring, project work.
You're right, Simon implies the revenue growth could flat line, but he did say 'exactly the same, or better'. I'm inclined to go with the latter because there seems to be a positive trend. The interims state revenues of 0.5 million in H1 2017. however, the last trading update in January states, for the year ended 31 December 2017, revenues of 1.3m (As Simon mentioned in the presentation). That means the revenues in H2 was 0.8 million, which is significantly higher. They're certainly having to hire more people to cope with the extra work. I think you could see the company as being in a 'proof-of-concept' stage with many clients. They getting paid to work on projects, which don't generate huge revenues but prove to their clients the value of what they're doing. I suspect revenues could shoot up very quickly.
His reference to 2018 revenue is a little ambiguous (14.30). He references last year revenue at 1.3m and 70% growth YoY and gives guidance for this year to be 'exactly the same'. Is he talking about growth or revenue? Assume its growth as flat revenue would be very disappointing. Says results to be released end of May. Why does this company release its results so late after the December year end. I thought the cut off was 3 months after year end?
Thanks for the post. Its a good watch, really interesting stuff about Ipsos strategy, that revenue channel could prove to be very valuable if Ipsos can convince its clients to pay for it.
Interesting presentation by Simon Liddington https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=34&v=303OXyzauBI "Stated aim is to embed us in their business. They don't want to makes a bid for us..." (6:30 minutes in)
IPsos's investment, though relatively small to them, now makes them a "substantial shareholder" as the RNS states and the appointment of an experiences director from Ipsos allows them to influence BST's strategy going forward. It doesn't mean BST will be successful, but if it is, I suspect Ipsos would eventually buy them out, and being a substantial shareholder probably makes this easier in the long term
I think the fact that they bought in at huge premium to the prevailing price says a lot. And they have a better idea than anyone about the BST product and its value to their clients
By transformational, I mean in receipt of what I call, a third party endorsement. In other words, people may never heard of big sofa, but they will have heard of Ipsos. Ipsos is a respected company in its field and has put its money where it mouth is. Therefore they will wish to see success in BST. So do I!
good luck footiebaz, i dont see why an investment by ipsos is transformational myself. What will make the company is it's technology. Unfortunately i don't think it is that good. Basically it is sound analysis of the spoken words with a lot of manual intervention. won't be buying in here, but am interested in following the share though
Having watched this share from the start I have finally bought in today spending 10k. Those who have seen my previous critical posts will know that I was associated with the company that BST owes a loan due to be repaid later this year. I stated in a recent post that the IPSOS deal could and should be transformational. Now that Ipsos is involved, the company is liquid and the loan will be paid off, the future looks much brighter and so I have invested. I have also viewed the following Ipsos video regarding their relationship: https://innovationpov.com/ipsos-marketing-big-sofa/ For me, this is a long term hold and I look forward to sitting back and watching the company steadily grow in partnership with Ipsos. Good luck all. Baz

In the last 2 days we've seen a pair of 350k sells, a pair of 350k buys and a pair of 350k sells today. Could it not be a long position as well? Either way it seems someone is trading this stock ST, which seems nuts given the huge spread
Are they closing a short on behalf of a client? Hence the selling of shares And the tr1?
Usual MM tricks of artificially high ask making every trade looking like a sell
Not entirely sure, need to look at L2 but looks like a large buy being filled. They are definitely sells at that level but quite chunky so not really sure what to make of it! Price rising is good though!
Just google 'the alternative view to cynical bear' Over 100k sold this morning (1% of Mcap) yet SP ticks ups?
Pretty sure no one listens to what this guy says but here is his investment case anyway https://www.*************.com/views/34132/big-sofa-a-strong-buy-the-alternative-view-to-cynical-bear-from-hotstockrockets
Thanks for the update VI. For me next 6 months will be crucial. Revenue for H1 2017 was 0.5m, for H2 was 0.8m, anything less than 1m for H1 2018 for me will indicate the inability to retain customers and develop a recurring revenue stream. In the recent raising they indicated they are planning on increasing marketing, particularly in America, so I'm expecting cash burn to be higher than recent levels and unless revenue picks up they will need to raise more cash by year end. Their assertion from the capital raising last year (below) is mostly likely no longer (and probably never was) valid. There are still a lot of holes in this business case, which means I am only willing to punt a tiny portion of my portfolio on this. But I think there is a possibility that the technology is valuable, the BoD can sell it and as a result that breakthrough large contract or 2 may materialise. In that event the SP would bag. "The Directors believe that this strategy will not only deliver operating break even during the course of the first half of 2018, but also that, ultimately, the nature of the relationships the Company is building with these customers as long-term strategic partners will see its revenue continue and grow in the future."
