I agree, it legitimises the ad category if HM Government is utilising it (paid or unpaid).
No, there won't be any revenue from this I expect but for one thing, it is a great way for them to give examples to current and future advertisers about brand awareness. It will hopefully also bring attention to advertisers considering gaming as a part of their spend and those who had not yet considered it.
Great way of getting the name out but don't think Bids will be making any money from these, a lot of the articles refer to donation space from some of the games, same may be the case for Codemasters.
Thanks Cozzy - A great way to raise the profile and potential of in-game advertising. It also highlights the superiority of Bidstack technology. Bidstack need this sort of article to appear in more mainstream media.
BBC article now updated with direct reference to Bidstack.

In Rebellion's case, it will display the message on a screen shown before gameplay begins within its Strange Brigade and Sniper Elite titles. It normally uses the launcher pages to promote its other wares. In the case of PC gamers, the pages will also contain a link to a website containing further advice about the virus.
By contrast, Codemasters will take advantage of the fact it has built in the ability to display ads within the action itself, which it can remotely update.
In the case of Dirt Rally, players will see the advice on the roadside banners they race past.
Because the technology is geo-targeted, the messages will be restricted to UK-based gamers. But Codemasters says it hopes to extend the initiative to other European and American players soon with localised public safety information.
Looking good for exposure of the technology.
Oh, and just in case people forgot.....
`Amongst other things we are pleased to be commencing our first campaign in a new game from a global leader in digital interactive entertainment on 6 April 2020.`

I wonder if bidstack are dealing with all those adverts, would be unexpected to get candy crush as a dev partner.
The boss from Rebellion was just interviewed on the BBC radio 4 about this. No mention of Codemasters . GLA
