This a pure opertunistic bid on the low oil price .OK the offer is part shell shares and they are also reliant on the oil price ,so if the oil price goes to say $70 then shell shares will rise the bid will be worth more .but I'm sure shell will not be alone in wanting BG.
No unless there is a backwardation
From the RNS: "It is expected that the Scheme Document will be despatched to BG Shareholders towards the end of 2015 or in early 2016" so a long way to go yet. It will be very interesting to see where the oil price and the RDS 'B' share price is early next year as they could have a significant impact on the value of this deal. As an original Sid I shall be looking forward to the 5.43% yield on RDS 'B' shares rather than the paltry 1.44% yield offered by BG. And as my p/f is geared towards high yielding shares I will be opting for extra shares in the 'Mix and Match Facility'. ATB.
It must be by Shell and Co.....We want a lot more than that Mr...Try doubling and you'll come close what this great British is really worth 1
Since privatisation.
Your right I was off to golf..so I put it back to focus after your note....COB yesterday was key.....new limit orders placed now Are you a holder
If that is a genuine question you really should do some reading or leave your hard-earned in the building society earning 0.5%. ATB
Can anybody help please.. If I were to buy 1000 BG Shares now at 1252....would they be worth more instantly because of the RNS and if so by how much. Thanks in anticipation Good luck all
I put is a limit order last night to sell 1500 at 921....Banged my head when I saw the opening SP and News....I thought it would have triggerred at 921 but very lucky that I got 1285...Have been trading this over recent weeks with Oil price Now looking to get back in BTW: First time ever levt an over night limit sell
For anyone who's been locked in bg for some time imo
Fair enough - nice profit if in before today :)
It best to hold it nothing stopping the other big boys putting a bid in i dont think exxon will i think they go after bp but chevron might
And if I wanted I could buy lower 12.46 live
Not really - if it was a cash offer I'd have held on but the cash proportion wasn't attractive to me!
Good opening. I'm still holding but it will take some time for this deal to go through assuming no issues regulatory or otherwise. GLA DYOR
Share offer is for £13.50 odd so you sold too soon?
Am out Sold at 12.92 down to 12.85 Got to be happy with that - might be an entry later on
£3.83 in cash + (0.4454 * £22 =) £9.7988 in shell shares equals £13.6288
No you not i held this share since day one us long term holder know all about brazil and the big boys have been wanted it for years but was not prepared to pay the premium price i kown we had a few promblem s but over time it will be raking in billions so i be holding my shell shares and may buy more with the cash because when brazil comes good i want to part of it and shell maybe be able to get thing moving quicker
I've worked out the value of the offer at shell shares £22. Am I using the wrong shares? 721 shares is 170 shell shares = £3,740 383p x 721 shares = £2,761 = £6,500 But 721 x £9 = £6,489???? I'm sure I'm working the deal at wrong or it sucks!
Thanks Have put a limit sell on some at £13. Personally don't think we'll go that high because of the cash and shares mix but we'll see
*well done tth, happy birthday!*
well done tty, happy birthday! i'm very happy with the price and cash/share mix myself, seems to be coming a £1 more per share than i had hoped. yum, yum.
Maybe I'm being greedy, but that sounds like a fair figure :)
Way undervalued
