Well we’re back on the road, at last. Onwards and upwards !

“ our financial performance for the first six months of 2018 has beeen robust notwithstanding the difficult trading conditions caused by the exceptional weather in March , especially in our Irish business said Bob Etchingham CEO
In August Applegreen announcedthat it is to acquire a majority stake in UK motorway services area operator Welcome Break for 362m euro.
Welcome Break portfolio consists of 24 motorway service areas, two trunk road service areas as well as 29 hotels across 29 hotels across 35 locations in the UK.
???? That is the question !!!!
Trading in apple green shares was suspended on August 2nd 2018 They are in the midst of a reverse takeover of the UK group Welcome Break. A huge development but not without its risks. they will trade again some time in September. For the full story google the words applegreen and Irish times and read the pieces published on August 2nd and 4th. I look forward to seeing what value this will add.
Some really good figures today. Reduction in net debt, increase in net operating cash flow by 63%. Well spent placing cash - this could really turn into a solid income stock over the long term. Happy to have the token dividend if growth continues on the current trajectory.

The Applegreen station at Lusk on the northbound M1 from Dublin to Belfast were the seller of the recently won 88.5m winning ticket. Good advertising! The winner has yet to be identified.
Added today. This company is growing like wildfire. At a time when the number of petrol stations has shrunk they have come along with a more attractive services/foodcourt offering which seems to be doing very well. My only concern is that in bringing so many new outlets on stream in a short time they might not be attending to detail. For example, I find their on-site signage and road markings within sites are poor or virtually non-existant as in the recently opened services at Hillsbough (south of Belfast).
They have introduced Greggs bakeriesfrom the rest of the UK to Northern ireland which has been a real hit!
All over Ireland north and south .
Good volume on here today I see!........
Hmmm spoke too soon..
Lots of investors here I see! Very surprised I'm the first to post on this BB? Well it is a Irish petrol/snack retailer with stores in uk and parts of America and is also looking to grow. .. Well may have a bite of the apple when I get some funds through... But in a tough market it seems to be holding its own.
