Maybe add continual bad news to the concerns? I've had a look through all the company announcements for the last 2 years; the outlook has progressively deteriorated at every turn. Largely weather/canker related, Acts of God. However share price deterioration has outstripped the financial impact of these setbacks, now looking very cheap on most valuation metrics. Thought you'd like that aspect Libero, now where is Shan? NBU proved recently Buffet's "weighing machine" quote, albeit with a push from ST. Management has taken steps to diversify, strong dividend, bad interim results (hopefully) priced in...positives outweigh negatives in my opinion. Bought in today at 14p. Surprised no holdings announcements following these huge trades.
and net net ...and perhaps they're even still profitable despite blight or whatever ...so concerns centre (I guess) around management, ownership and persistent selling...and neg sp mojo ...any other concerns I've missed?
as many theories as punters ....I suspect more sellers around BUT there is weight of money it seems interested at this level..so perhaps we have bottomed now ..attractive on div alone (and with all that cash, probably sustainable lol) ...no advice intended
EV/EBIT figure and ...is it actually negative due to the v high level of cash?!
nice play on words haha missus - the way I hear it used - means girlfriend as well as wife hence my use of it.
Any thoughts on the late sells? I saw The Times speculate yesterday that Friday's whopper marked the last of an institution selling, presumably Value Partners. Could today be the dregs, or perhaps other theories abound?
understanding lol
I'm not married and, as a 22 year old chap, I don't plan on marrying any time too soon but the rule still applies hahaa!
Our main man today has put Simon Thompson in the shade when it comes to putting a rocket under a share price!
Queenie will be impressed! lol
clearly I need a Jolly sight more practice ...let's let the sp do the screaming
You need more CAPS and loads more !!!!!!!. Keep up, Jolly :-))))
Top marks mate, Top marks lol....
about to tick up (...how am I doing, bonker?)
equally surprised by Jolly's ramp - he's usually dishing to the ramping grief to others ;) I had as low as 12s here but that buying at 13.50 on Friday was phenomenal and couldn't be ignored imo ... Interesting point about the 18p worth of Renminbi, all the more so as that's a currency that should appreciate in the coming years ;)
seen yr answer on mos...u sound as though u have appreciated one of the key skills of a successful marriage ...know who's the boss ...it aint u
Very well done, imo. For your 13.75p & 13.91p you've just bought about 18p worth of renmimbi...... .........and a share in three ginormous plantations......... .........and a share in three huge processing plants......... .........and a dividend yield of about 6%. But what about the cash burn rate? This company is cash generative and profitable. It's debt free and has funded all investment in biological assets "trees" ;-) and processing plants out of revenues. Really looking forward to analysis of the interims on 26th Feb. In my opinion, we will see a reasonable profit. Perhaps not at the heady levels of a year or so ago but, perhaps, enough to maintain the level of dividend. And all this after a year of bad weather-related news. Who knows? One day I may even have to use the "Caps Lock" button ;-) GLA holders and posters Orphan
just practicing.. ...it was Scarlet's fault..she put me up for it ..one persuasive lady ..ps are u based in the W. Hemisphere?
I've never seen you ramp anything. Usually you pop in and out of shares with a quick little comment / series of comments and disappear for a bit. But not here. Are you so bullish here because the EV/EBIT figure is ridiculously low due to the Cash >>>>> (far exceeding) their liabilities?
Hi Bankster...well done on nbu
Lol, Jolly won't be happy if you call him a ramper.....
All this ramping this morning has snared me in at 13.91p!
You'll have to wait for professional rampers to turn up ;-))
I am still here too! Just been tied up with some other shares that are moving sharply today too (tly/aec/ppr/kibo)... will try to sell another share and add here asap gla
but where's my Jolly big boooooooooooooooooooom?
