i have practical experience over many years and know that they do affect the price.
i purchased TILS through a CFDs today went through the market as a buy and moved the quote.
I still don't think so and I have my reasons to think that way. You have differing views and reasons to support your thinking. I dont know whos right or wrong here but I know I'm right. J/K.
and can regular buy and sell using CFDs and SBs. they certainly affect the price as you can visually see the trades moving the price.
i regularly place orders directly on the BID and OFFER through a DMA using CFDS, They definitely affect the price.

Yherrare other links saying the same but thats the 1st I came across and effectively says what I said.
It is interesting that it’s done when we are closed and they are open
I need to check but I’m sure the other PR stuff was done when we were open?
Hot day with some wine and thinking to much about it.
“Simply put the Bears have sunk their teeth into TLSA and wont give up without a fight“
Which is why, starting with this evenings conference, the next charm offensive must begin imo.
Obviously as TILS is MM quote driven, traders dont have access via DMA however TLSA is order driven therefore DMA and CFDs are possible.
Of cause CFDs affect the price as they are bought and sold directly into the market.
Most DMA traders will use CFDs.
Simply put the Bears have sunk their teeth into TLSA and wont give up without a fight.
@whimax, I ws under the impression that CFD'S don't affect the share price unless there is a massive amount being placed on a particular direction and the platform were trying to cover themselves against a massive loss.
I could be wrong and happy to be corrected by someone smartier than I.
will you be locked out I thought they were giving notice? best to get in at this price but i dont think you will be locked out?
When people start to panic and sell at these prices I see it as a buying opportunity. We still have the cut off date for the spin off which can land any day and you will be locked out. A 3% swing is small once we have a RNS land with some good news. You only have to look where we were 15th June at SP 85p.
Agree JH.
IG for example have TILS as ‘Unborrowable’ yet TLSA (on the same platform) is shortable via CFD.
I think we are close to tipping point tho. TLSA was 3% short yesterday on IG but is now 100% long. If I was short I’d want to close before tonight’s interview.
OMG @aidan... can't stop laughing....Lol
Imho shorters are using the US market because they can get borrow and the US is certainly a less bullish market, Hence bears can drive lower knowing the UK market will follow.
Nasdaq in general is down dammit.
Because the yanks are clueless. I bet a lot have invested on robinhood with little to no research following someone’s advice and have wet the bed when it drops 5%
the UK investor market remains fairly bullish whereas the US appears more bearish.
