Friday for me with my old workmates. That’ll be Saturday blanked out. Fill a bath with gin and dive in. ;-) have a good evening.
Hahaha Bellers.
I have a young family and can relate to that.
I recon we have about 90 minutes of peace unless he is on his phone at the pub.
I will catch up on the conversation later tonight. I’m out on the monkey 47 now. (Well actually I am sat in a bar on my own awaiting people to turn up for Chrissy drinks(.
M&A.
If a company is shopping for a sale yes they pay bankers consultants etc, the company buying is approached and the sale is at the cost of the purchased company.
If a company is approached typically by a bank working on behalf of 3rd party acquirer, the acquirer is fitting the bill.
If SXX were actively up for sale and promoting themselves they would engage a particular type of bank and this would be public knowledge. I do not believe SXX are paying a bank to sell them. Let’s face it any suitable acquirers wouldn’t need to be tapped up by a retained bank shopping SXX for sale. It’s a very different situation.
Sitting on a huge asset, company struggling for survival, vultures will be circling in a couple of months. Either way SP goes up from here. Finance/co development or asset sale either way it’s multiples from this point.
Current sp is priced to fail, someone may get a bargain but there will be way too much interest to fail completely
Not long enough Fred. I feel drained. It’s like being questioned by my grandkids. :-)
How long does it take to drink 3 pints??
"I'm off for a pint, or three, or more."
..i'm surprised you're not on the shorts
Does that mean testicle shaped ???
More like the voice of the mysterons!
.... no offence :-)
Just for the record, the Earth is an oblate spheroid.
Boom! Yeah I sort of set you up there (no need to say thank you).
Let’s agree to disagree on this share. I was inspired at a young age by chicken little, hence I am invested and materially up.
the earth's actually pear-shaped, a bit like the SXX SP
If I say the Earth is round are you going to start preaching Flat earth theory to me?
Having been through 3 acquisitions and several M&A situations this is not my experience.
Admittedly, these were a bit larger than this one and not in the same market. Usually, the potential buyer foots the cost and this will be credited back if a deal is struck.
In the case of SXX that cash balance would be declining pretty quickly if they were funding due diligence for any interested parties.
As you say maybe we check with IR.
Guys. You will never win this conversation.
Whether we like it or not, or agree or not, the points IBAB flags are the fundamentals of why the share price is at 3p
Personally, I believe that there is upside to where we are at the moment but the market does not.
IBAB you are listing the reasons why we are at 3p. The fact we are at 3p and not 0p shows we are still in the game. Therefore, we are back to where we were earlier.
We are where we are. Things don’t look good. Share price reflects this. You think the risk of things going badly is too great to invest. I think it’s worth a punt and a solution will be found that shows upside from here.
End of.
Only point I really disagree with is your description of tyre kickers doing due diligence. I’m sure you know how much due diligence would cost for an acquisition like this. So I would say they are a little more than tyre kickers.
illbetabuck - I know what you’re prob going to throw at me after I write this post - but don’t really care - it’s just what I think. You say that some of our big investors haven’t got a lot to lose re Sirius as their investments are pocket change to them. Sometimes in business some might see the bigger picture - it might just be about conversations had over a period, relationships being built up, plans for the future, the bigger picture and dare I say even supporting a company and actually liking what they are proposing to do. There is no doubt Sirius have a lot of doubters and even those who don’t want them to succeed - but it may just be that they have some big investors who want them to be successful and do well. Of course it’s business and they will need to negotiate hard and we all know that - but there are a lot of us smaller investors that are looking at what they have achieved, what they can achieve and my guess is we’re not the only ones - I recon they have some large investors in their corner as well who know the huge potential of a company that they have had dealings with over a period of time.
You are correct Forseti...the wheels on the bus go round and round.....
So can I, but that may not be beneficial to current equity holders.
Agree, but comes back around to my first point ...
yes but if there are multiple bidders ... ?
Ground hog day again ....
see you in a couple of days and we can do it again under another subject heading.
Small change to them Illbetabuck, but I would like to bet they prefer not to lose it. If they front some cash imagine what their payback will be for 100 years! What if the Qatar fund fronts the lot and gets the Poly for nothing. Stick their margin on and win/ win for them. At the moment nothing is off the table or even on it. All conjecture and we just have to wait. At least Christmas will be a distraction if we haven’t heard anything by then.
Normally I would agree with you however in this case.
some major investors are already in and will lose too much
According the latest estimate its $400 million to get buy currently 2 states (norway and quatar) are already in for more than that so i dont think they will just write it off.
The upside is too big and i can seem bids / offers / cash from differing sources.
If there is a share issue along with funding then the upside will be greater.
Just hold and wait in my Opinion.
Never seen IGAF so active !!!!
All over this BB.
IT MUST have the last word.
IT must be under instructions from it's boss.
Stinks eh??
Rights issue ??? - I will be in - if it comes to that.
GLA LTI's
"In the absence of multiple bidders your are likely to get shafted, pardon the pun."
yes but if there are multiple bidders ... ?
Does anyone think there will be ?
Discuss ........
If no one comes forward to fund then it will probably be put back to us. No worries there. I’m ready to in at 3p for another share issue. That will sink the shaft and finish the tunnel. Risk is then massively reduced. However, when Tristan Pottas rang me in August he was of the opinion it wouldn’t be back with us...? We have to wait and see
illbetabuck,
thank you for your honest post,
could you please let us know what fertilizer company you are working for? thanks.
I actually have shares in sirius minerals.
Go on tell me how I'm going yo lose my money, and I'd be better off selling.
Illbeta - excellent posts by you. Appreciated.
