I do not believe that AlanG made £3M on Dana, or in fact on anything else.
Nobody with proper cash would fret as much as he does about his loss, or say that they never believed they’d have 1M shares, or have so little knowledge about share dealing and the realities of shorting.
£1.25m same year or loses from previous years
we're presuming it falls under UK tax residency rules.. it might not be true.
It looks like Alan’s self assessment had 1.25 million in expenses .
Scotman - yep, taxman is very selective on picking up big numbers..
IMO - my tin hat talking: If they've been pushing price down just to make sure
this trade (and perhaps other contractual trades "on day close")
goes at cheapest possible price then 10% from £3m is £300K profit.
I'm not sure if common ppl know about these reshuffles much to get ready in advance.
I knew we’d get the tales of Danaman again!
So you only paid half a million tax on 3.5 million capital gains Danaman?
I’d be careful of posting anything further on this subject here!
Thanks MrM no doubt all will soon be revealed. Another interesting day tomorow.
members - yes, Dana is picked example, asymmetric information unfortunately.
Have to agree: statistically outcomes are very negatively skewed,
even diversification between all stock will lead to loses despite some positions going up by x10 and more.
Average outcome on this market is indeed a loss!!
The UT trade is over 70% of today's volume, so was thinking it was likely hiding a few big trades in there somewhere. Hence, not surprised to see the 1m trade pop up at 18:45. What to make of it? Don't know tbh ...
Beevorma £1m - 41.3m shares.
nice 1m sell at 18:45
AlanG... Well done for becoming a Millionaire thanks to Dana Petroleum.
You will become penniless with SXX.
For every success story and happy ending like Dana, there are hundreds going bust.
I hope for you and everyone here that SXX is not one of them, but the odds have been stacked firmly against it for months and months now.
Members I was called dilusional, thick etc when I bought and held Dana Petrolium and as posted before this fool made £3.5 million it's nice being thick and delusional .
I held when all others were skating the company dose that sound familiar
