I think the biggest plus going forward apart from the vaccine is the commitment from the gov to go all out green - cities and towns throughout the UK are now in a situation where they basically HAVE to get cars out of their city/town which means more and more buses - I topped up here at 90p but my average is around 74p - I have around 20pct of my total portfolio in this share that is how confident I am - looking for 130p before September which is on the cards imo - gla dyor etc
The scientists producing the vaccines have made it very clear they have a product that can quickly be finessed to counter variants that arise (variants being the expected norm in such viruses). That is a massive game changer which means COVID will be kept in check like flu viruses. Life will return to normal and buses will be busy.
Truth is once everyone vaccinated, the lockdown will have to end. It's not possible to keep it going forever.
Do you realize what a Fantastic achievement 85% effective is Barney_B ?
And which variants of Covid does this vaccine that is 85 percent effective cover? All of them or just some..... what about the 15 percent that it doesn’t offer protection too....? Hmmm I guess they keep dying and spreading the virus..
A single-dose Covid-19 vaccine is set to receive approval in the United States as soon as tomorrow after proving safe and effective in trials, showing complete protection against hospitalisation and death.
The Johnson & Johnson (J&J) vaccine is 85 per cent effective at preventing severe illness and 66 per cent protective overall against moderate cases, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has confirmed.
The vaccine produced by the American pharmaceutical giant has advantages over its rivals because it can be kept in a fridge for three months, making it easier to store and distribute than alternatives manufactured by Pfizer and Moderna, which must be kept frozen until use. The single-jab regime means that there is no need for follow-up appointments.
