I don’t disagree with you about the dividend but RDSB will want to pay down its debt quite sharply from any free cashflow generated before hiking the dividends and also from a strategic perspective it’s better to steadily increment than risk overdoing and then either cutting again or putting investment on hold. The company has a very challenging transition plan to execute and its a long game but I’m sure they’ll want to bring investors with them so will do what they can to boost the payout subject to their other strategic priorities. IMHO GLA
At with oil at $50 to $70 and without wasting money buying back shares Shell could still double the current dividend!
AIMHO and DYOR
When oil reached high values fracking in the USA exploded reducing the percentage of market for the Arabs, which in turn made them turn the taps on to regain market share, which reduced the price considerably then covid hit. If the price of oil goes to $80 to $90 dollars the same thing will occur only this time it will benefit renewable energy and cars reducing market share for oil products.
People are still dying, people in the UK are not yet back at work meaning redundancies have not yet hit the market. I see oil remaining between $50 and $70 for this year based on my personal opinion.
Good luck with your investments, I could be wrong.
Fusion..
It's rubbish in your humble opinion of course?...
We are going to sail past £16 the SP just went up nearly £1 in a day, Brent is $67pb and on the way to $75pb and we are still in February.
I think after we get the third quarter results we will be over £18 and on the way to £20 by years end.IMO
You don’t know that at all....
A year ago they were paying people 40$ to take it away....
A year later oil is 67$ a barrel.
A turn around of 107$......
And we aren’t even out of Covid yet....
Point is......Anything can happen.
Good luck
lol
Pastyc, oil is NOT going to hit $80/$90 by summer, stop posting rubbish
Think we're going to see a strong revaluation of the Big Oil Companies.... Brent could easily hit 80/90 dollars by the Summer.
Shell will be making huge profits again. £20 easily achievable by the Autumn.
