Hi Lawrence13. It was years ago, and cellulitis, still got the scars, but okay now, Thank you. The type of trades I am alluding to are always "A" trades, which men they are traded as soon as the price is hit.
Say a price is 27p with a spread of 26.9 to 27.1 . A company may want to buy shares as low as possible, so if the price goes up they may then load the sell side to bring the price lower, you might think this is counter productive, but on the order book the market makers can see sells such as stop losses at even lower prices, and can gobble them up.
Google market makers using algorithms ( and it will explain better than I am doing ) These can also be computer traded,
I have spent over 10 hours watching the sell side just spewing out "A" AUTOMATIC TRADES, and once the order has been filled, then the price moves dramatically. Bearing in mind there are a number of shorts on POG, they have a vested interest is buying back those shares at the cheapest possible price.
The "A" TRADES generally do not work when the spread is larger.
First thing Rusty: I hope the hospital stay wasn't anything too serious and you're okay now.
Okay I'm trying to get my head around this share trading you and Freddie have alluded to,
Is it the volume of sells that knocks the SP down or the value on the shares I men whose selling silly small amounts like you have highlighted
That these are also trades.

I studied these for months, as a premium member when I was laid up after being in hospital. And would love someone to disprove my theory. It happened every time, you could see the market makers just waiting to pick off certain trades, once out the way WHOOSH. A couple of days later an RNS.
It happened about a month ago with Norges bank. Lets see what happens. Always interesting when you have ended this, to see which way the tide turns, and normally quickly.
