Towards end of FT article it reports that "there is no sense of urgency in the NIH" to create a Challenge facility in the USA. They appear to be content to allow ORPH a clear run.
Last week we were told that the East End facility is fully booked for 18 months and additional capacity is being sought.
Well done everyone at ORPH. Heroes.
Original FT article mentions that too actually, I missed it first time round.
Wolf, besides the possibility to increase the size of the facility, the price charged per Covid test will be at a much higher premium than non-covid testing significantly increasing a revenue stream that prior to OO taking over was only 45% full on avr=erage, that is what you are missing
Coverage on CNBC now too - https://www.cnbc.com/2020/09/23/volunteers-in-the-uk-will-reportedly-be-the-fire-exposed-to-to-speed-up-vaccine-development.html
Very interestingly if Hvivo's 24 bed unit is going to be full, the article says:
"1Day Sooner is launching a campaign this week to get public funding for a biocontainment facility for the studies, big enough to quarantine 100 to 200 volunteers. "
I think you'll find it's fully booked with C19 challenge trials now, he has never explained how it's fully booked, now we know. Enjoy the day folks,,, awesome news.
welcome to the board Wolfbag, the facility isn't booked out by any means, but this news - the acceptance of Open Orphan's Covid challenge protocol - will see that happen big time, I would guess for a year or more, with likely expansion at other facilities. No one else in the world offers this service in the biggest vaccine arms race in human history. A little research will also reveal the extent of OO's other potentially huge revenue streams. atb in your research
Your missing something ??
CF stated in the last presentation that they are looking for additional quarantine space.
OK so hVIVO runs a facility in East London built for purpose - however that facility apparently is already FULLY booked for the forseeable future.
It's a "given" the profile of the company (hVIVO) is raised exponentially and to a lesser extent OpenOprhan
However - correct me if i am wrong - but there appears to me to be only scope for a limited impact on increased revenues they will receive as they presumably only have a finite amount of this type of resource to offer - am I missing something ?
At last some real news..and it doesn't get much better than this (unless Imutex JV gets monetised)....
"Humans will be deliberately infected with the coronavirus as Britain holds the world's first Covid-19 human challenge trials, it is reported.
Volunteers are to be deliberately infected with the new coronavirus to assess the effectiveness of experimental vaccines and to speed up Britain's delivery of the vaccine, the Financial Times reported on Wednesday, citing people involved in the project.
The government-funded project is expected to begin in January at a quarantine facility in London, the report said. Volunteers will be first inoculated with a vaccine and later receive a challenge dose of the coronavirus.
The vaccine to be tested in the project has not been named, but the clinic earmarked for the initial challenge trials is said to be run by London-based hVivo."
Adyor!
NICE! this is 25% of my portfolio and 25% up already, no intention of banking any profits on this one. Thanks all the team at ORPH!

Already getting picked up by other papers https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/politics/uk-deliberately-infect-volunteers-coronavirus-22730802
This will be all over the global news stations, Cathal delivers yet again. What an investment this is proving to be with so many Covid and Non -Covid revenue streams. Not to mention the wearables database to be licensed and the non core Imutex and PrepBiopharm stakes to be monetised!
