Yes this is a great shop window RNS, and CF knows it and is openly advertising that we're open for new business in the RNS! "If you're interested...get it touch..." Gonna be an exciting road... one which starter for me at 7p... but unfortunately my larger buys came later and at a higher price.
Our global monopoly has been granted .
Gonna need a bigger boat!
"hVIVO will also be expanding its Clinical Operations in London to facilitate work at this site. hVIVO's state of the art, category 2 facility at Queen Mary's Bioenterprise Centre, London, will continue to be used to deliver the Company's traditional challenge study contracts, particularly respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) and is booked to maximum capacity until Summer 2021"
Great RNS, very positive endorsement of the challenge study as part of vaccine development. MHRA approval of any subsequent protocol is likely given their previous comments on supporting challenge studies.
These first studies are characterisations studies and so I wonder if/how the characterisation studies will be tied in with future challenge studies of any vaccine candidate? A question for the conf call on Thursday for sure. Of the 100 or so vaccine manufacturers still in development behind these late stage candidates (AZ/Pfizer), many will now see this as a legitimate way of accelerating their own development timelines. GLA.
Not often you see an AIM RNS with a quote from a cabinet minister! Definitely moving into the big time
UK government has the first 3 slots. I would imagine there will be a very long queue after them.... Happy days! Excited times ahead!!
... Open Orphan plc (ORPH), a rapidly growing specialist CRO pharmaceutical services company, which is the world leader in the testing of vaccines and antivirals using human challenge studies, is pleased to announce the signing of a contract by hVIVO, a subsidiary of Open Orphan, with the UK Government to develop a COVID-19 (SARS-CoV-2) human challenge study model. The model development involves the manufacture of the challenge virus and the first-in-human characterisation study for this virus. The contract starts immediately and could be worth approximately £10 million to hVIVO depending upon the final number of volunteers that are included in the characterisation study. In addition, the Government has secured the first three slots to test vaccines using hVIVO's COVID-19 challenge study, which we expect start in 2021, each slot reservation has been secured at a cost of £2.5m each bringing the total value of these slot reservations to £7.5m.....
