Looking likely we’ll need to prepare for the Omicron surge in the coming weeks as Covid surging again all over the place ….? If anyone thinks infectious diseases are all but conquered then think again. CF is spot on with his predictions of hundreds of $billions being thrown a infectious disease drug R&D in the coming years seeing as the Covid pandemic has already cost the global economy $17 trillion so far and counting..

The constantly mutating Covid virus is playing into the hands of OO’s business model. There are so many countries with low vaccination rates all around the globe that Covid 19 is mutating everywhere, before long it will be impossible to control it like the cold and flu viruses, because it will become a multi strain virus in too many countries to control. This will make it more likely that human challenge trials will go ahead as we learn to live with Covid 19 strains and it could even overtake the Flu and RSV work that OO carries out within its Hvivo business. Adyor!
Having said that, it actually works out much better for OO as it means the US drug companies will have to keep coming to OO to test their vaccines, so no competition from US based CRO’s! That’s why OO is so far ahead of the game when it comes to human challenge studies.
So It’s okay to force a monkey to be used for testing vaccines but not volunteer humans. The old man’s a Neanderthal and should be sacked or maybe given an experimental jab!
Fauci still seemingly very reluctant to engage in human trials…. But testing on animals.
Omicron in at least 50 countries and despite data suggesting it could be milder than Delta variant, that may be because the average age is SA is much younger than in Western societies. Looking like we almost going back 12 months with similar restrictions to this time last year?
