Research and Gambling. Exactly. On top of research and gambling, I like to keep strong liquidity ratios.
My background is private client stockbroking. I am amazed that some institutions like Lansdowne have broken the golden rule of liquidity ratios. Woodford wasn't much better imop.
One massive difference with shares and gambling is that you have the chance to take some of the money back if you guess wrongly so sometimes I don`t mind taking a loss and starting again.
Not many gamblers are able to admit it but yes I’m afraid to say everyone here IMO is gambling.
See if you can do this because it will help.
Stand in front of the mirror and say “My name is and I’m a gambler” lol
It’s funny I’m not a gambler either. I once went to Vegas and spent nothing in the casinos but gambling is not my thing but for some reason I have no problem placing money in shares it just feels different but it just isn’t. If you don’t believe me ask your wife/husband!
We are all gambling that antibodies make us immune for starters!
IMHO any way.
I understand the analogy and comparison of Investments to gambling. In that here are a number of things out of your control.
Being alive is a risk - crossing the road - without looking? But we still cross roads - BUT we look and cross carefully
Yes with decent research you can hopefully mitigate risk to a level you cant when rolling a dice
So lets hope the research has indeed mitigated the risk to a large degree - IMO there is risk but with every week it reduces - GLA
We can all speculate what’s going to happen next but truthfully nobody knows and we are all gambling.
In fact that’s the only thing every single person on every one of these chat groups have got in common.
We are all gamblers lol.
I think everyone can now agree that this virus is with us forever in one form or another and I would like to think that at some point there will be a vaccine. This is going to be expensive for sure and I can see that doctors will not be administering it to anyone. All vaccines have side effects and a lot of people will be reluctant to have one so I imagine the first step will be to use a cheap test to see if you have had it before. That alone is mega £ for ODX.
IMHO anyway.
